Lady B you are right about the hexagonal shaped barrels. Even the three pounders have the flats inside. The retaining rings are a bit of a pain but work better in time. The 12 pounder uses a hose clamp instead and the 15 pounder has the commercial type drum with wingnuts.

I have a 3 year old Model T; a 2 year old AR-2; and a Year old AR-12- and other than lids and the occasional lid seal problem (I figured out that if the snap you can super glue them and get at least 6 more months on them) the machines have worked FLAWLESS- I oil em once every month or so- tear em apart and give em a good cleaning about once a year- and all 3 are still on the original belts!!! THese run 24/7 with never a rest (except during power outages or barrel changes) Just a couple hints if your buying used- Look for the Black barrel lids (the AR-12 does not have a black lid yet)- they aare a much more Wear resistent material (last about 2x as long) Also there are 2 different single barrel models- the Model T has a smaller motor which can only be replaced with modification to the base- but the Model T is cheaper- then the AR-1 has the replaceable, heavier duty motor (but is more expensive)- My Mosel T has been a work horse.
