I have never liked turquois but in that ring it is awesome. Incentive to give your method a try but I do not do metal. Maybe a mahogany ring with inlay would work. hhmmmmmmm Thanks for the sharing your knowledge. Jim Thanks! I have seen several woodworkers use turquoise chips in cracks and voids, so no reason it wouldn't work in a wooden ring or pendant. Would love to see some pics of your experiments in that area

hahaha yeah, like I need another project. But just in case, how deep is your groove?
I am really good at starting new projects when I have many unfinished ones. As luck would have it I just acquired some mahogany by digging through some piles of "free" stuff that my son ran across. I should be able to shape and polish the wood the same way I do the stone but without water. Jim

Jim This was made by soldering two pieces of square wire to a strip of 22 ga sheet, so the channel is 2 mm deep Ahhh, the dreaded "Round to it's"! I seem to accumulate a few of those myself!

Thanks. Wrote it down because it could be years or it could be tomorrow but I would forget it either way. Has anyone seen my stack of notes? I seem to have misplaced them. I bought a 3X5 card box about six months ago to keep track of things like this and one of these days I will get round to it. Makes me tired just thinking about it. Jim
