I love my old Olympus FE340 with macro and super macro but that camera may pry my fingers off of it. I have a feeling you will really like that camera because it is small but will do just about anything you could possibly want to do with a camera.

I always buy refurbished because they are cheap and the bugs have been eliminated.

Camera is deceptively complicated with multitude of functions if you want to delve.
Basic operation simple though.

Olympus is has always been trend setter and neurotic on technology.

Ratings said it was easily 'most bulletproof'. which was why I bought it.

Looking at your 340, very similar base design to this camera. Buttons/controls in same location.
Good to know. Looks like they modified an old reliable set up for water and abuse.

This is my first Olympus. SLR C750 Ultra Zoom. It goes to 40X telephoto, 10 Optical and 30 Lens. Pop up flash and hot shoe. Both view finder and small screen. Good thing is that it takes 4 AA batteries that can be bought anywhere but adds a lot of weight and size. Bad thing is that it takes an XD card instead of the easy to find SD card. Other good thing is that it has a remote shutter. Bad thing is that my step son dropped it at a birthday party and broke the battery compartment door latch. I made an external door holder shut er but it is kind of Micky Moused/cobbled holder shut er and I really need to either send it in or try to get a new latch. Full manual is quite easy but I need to get out the book and study it again. Even though it is only 4 meg it takes some damn nice photos.

I down sized to the FE when I went to China because the FE fits into any pocket. My son was using it but his girl friend borrowed the XD card then lost it. I took it back because a $760 camera (didn't buy this one refurbished) should be taken better care of.

hahaha Not much use for viagra around here jamesp. Lower back pain and Parkinson meds. Do you need anything shook up? Shaking not so bad right now but the future looks a bit grim if I get even close to how bad my brother is. Science is moving forward with it so maybe ........

Thank you for the offer of the XD card and I accept it if you have a small gig size. I would have to do some research on the camera but I think I saw something about size limit on that camera. I down load my photos frequently so a large capacity card is not necessary any way.

Sorry I missed this James. Knarly is good even if it is not straight because I can cut out a curve to straighten or make a cut and reverse the two pieces to straighten. A short fork at the top works pretty good but is nothing to go looking for because anything will work and be different than anything I have.

I was surprised when one lady friend told me that the thing she liked most on my carved stick is the finger grooves I cut into it. Pouted for a minute because she did not pick one of the animals. Then another lady likes the bear beads best so I am 0 out of 5 on the animal carvings. Maybe I need to keep it simple hahaha.

I gave away my bed headboard stick to my niece so she could give it to a friend that had a stroke and hates her cane. Got word back that she totally loves the stick because it gives her a lot more ballance. Had the warm fuzzy feeling over that one. I finished two more of those sticks, one for me and one for my niece that I need to post photos. Found a small brass butterfly for the top of hers and a brass snail for mine. The niece had a shitty childhood with my brother and his wife but she is tough as nails because she has had MS for 15 years and still runs half marathons, Runs her psyc business with three psyc employees and teaches Zumba two or three nights a week. Just getting back together with her after a long separation. Long sad story.

Thanks for everything. Oh, about my Parkinson, I saw it coming a couple of years ago when I would over do the caffeine. Now it kind of comes and goes but is always there a little. I have been doing some design painting on a couple of canes and I can hold a smooth line most of the time if I can rest my hand on something. Knee seems to work best but I have to do a lot of flipping the cane around. I will have it finished soon and will post photos. Totally off the wall.
