City boy who can carry his own in the back country... If I am in fishin' waters, then I am fishin' even if I have to use thread to tie a crows feather on raw steel hooks and toss it in with a handline. Filled the ice chest with bream using that one!

And if you drink, a drinking town with a fishing problem is it's motto.

Ok , let's talk the most important part of the trip. The guy up front by the trolling motor is holding a fishing pole. What did he catch(type)? How many? What lure? All the info is needed. And the pics. Forget about the chicken, your fishen.

And the pics. Forget about the chicken, your fishen. The guy up front and Jay in that boat are fisherman spice. He lives in Mount Dora where the Chain of Lakes are. Deeper lakes, good for hot weather fishing. He took me and Jay to Griffin Lake and we racked up on bass. I actually spanked them on green plastic worms. And they had to eat humble pie as I begged them to convert. To what I lovingly called 'Georgia' green plastic worms. They begrudgingly converted and joined the champion club. I reveled in satisfaction. As they usually way out fish me. Upon return their wives wanted to know how we did. They were forced to be honest in my presence. The ladies knew who the hero was and I restrained at that point further bragging for fear of bodily damage. Especially from the aforementioned fellow mentioned above at the trolling motor. He not to be trifled with lest a path to run is available.

You go James. Teach them boys how to fish, using your worms and sell them at a high price. The price is not always money. I miss fishing a lot but rock hounding is like fishing in away. When you get a bite and set the hook, you don't know what you have hooked or how big until it's in your hands. When you are rock hounding you see a nice rock but only the outside. You pick it up and look closer. Might see good signs or have to cut it open. Fishing or hounding you don't always know what you have till its in your hands, maybe. A strange comparison, but I see it.

Hunter/collector category, falls close to neanderthal side of man. Beat your chest and grunt n roar. Plastic worms are just Zoom brand from local Walmart. With salt impregnation and flat curly tail style, bout 7-8 inches. Green, any of Zoom's green-cotton candy-watermelon, several others. Was using watermelon that day on Lake Griffin. Light green color water was exact light green color of worm. Darker green water, use darker green worm. Lake Griffin has dead white sand bottom and no dark organic matter, so the light green water. Minimum slip weight to get a cast. Gamakatsu hooks, gotta use Gamakatsu. And gotta use super soft Zoom brand worms w/flat tail. They had fifty different color worms in a big dedicated worm box. I have 4-5-6 shades of green and that is all, packed in a small water proof box.

And I understand that 100 different kinds of worms verse 5 kinds. As long as you have the right color but if they was catching them on electric blue the chances of you having that color, maybe? Also good hooks is very important. Lots of factors play into the fishing game. I got paired up with a guy in tournament, he had shirts with more advertisements than a newspaper, had his nickname painted on the outboard. We fished all day, there where 370 people in this tournament. We caught the fish at my spots on the lake and I was just wearing a tshirt, gym shoes , gym shorts... Looking like a bum compared to him. He came in 5th and I was 6th place. When they interviewed him, he gave me all the credit and that was better than coming in first place. Sometimes the simple things in life are the best.

Fishing is #1 camaraderie past time. The challenge to catch is right up there too. Chris has a boat equipped to the nines, me a simple kayak. He enjoys the gadgets, me the simplicity. Different strokes. And the guy that never fishes caught the biggest and best on this trip. Better to give credit than to receive lime light(lest you have competitive partners). I guess fishing was designed for everyone. Giant slayer eh ? So you worked on the pro. Happens all the time. You would have rubbed it in on me cause I would have been instigating competition. And I would invite you to rub my face in the mud. What goes around comes around. Can appreciate a good whopping.

In all these lake threads, I have seen no mention of the Junior problem/issue.
Surely minding his Ps & Qs while you are on site. Any sightings, encounters or feel for what the future holds?

According to neighbor Junior moved shortly after my visit. He was not there this trip. He stole and apparently pawned 2 of Grandaddy's chain saws. I think Grandaddy sent him off, and Grandaddy wants his truck back. talk about biting the hand that feeds. Lost his free crib, may loose his transportation, now fending for himself. The neighbors think I ran him off. I think Grandaddy did. Either way, good riddance.
