Hi James, is this material from the same area in Nevada as the copper ore specimens that I bought last month? Some of the pieces seem rather similar.
I would like boxes 1, 3 and 8 please. Please let me know if you are able to combine to ship differently than 3 separate boxes. No hurry, I'll be here. Thank you!

But they are quite a bit different. The copper ores are primarily in an matrix of quartz or other silicates and there is a lot of turquoise in those rocks. The chrysocolla is in a matrix of dolomite with no turquoise and different patterns. They do both share a high limonite content, which is common with all the copper deposits around here. I can see if they will all fit in a large flat rate. Otherwise I will have to break the shipment up in to two packages.

Those knife handles are dope. Nice job. Thanks, those were my first knife scales. The knife was a birthday present for my brother.

Forgot to add that the other mine also does not have the silver ores bromargyrite or chlorargyrite. The bromargyrite remains bright green but the chlorargyrite turns brown on exposure to sunlight making it difficult to distinguish from the limonite.

I've made some paper micarta scales & handles before. Wish I had the equipment to make some from stone.

Love the knife handle! I hope you don't mind if I ask a question: do your samples have enough metal to detect with a metal detector? The reason I am asking is I was at an abandoned copper (and silver and gold) mine in northern Ontario and found some samples that look the same. I was unable to find anything interesting with the detector, but ended up bringing home some rocks that look identical to yours, just because I liked the look. I ended up tossing them into my garden and just ran outside before it got too dark and rescued a few. LOL

LOL I have never tried but I doubt a metal detector would go off on these rocks because the metal is compounded as a mineral, not elemental.

sweet! My lady mail carrier LOVES large FR boxes!! Please PM me the total damages. Just use the copper ore PM thread, I still have your Paypal addy there. And thank you for the bonus rock! I appreciate the info on the rocks. I like to keep as detailed of notes on everything I have as possible - for when I can't remember anything about a specific rock. Also figure it will help anyone that has to deal with my collection should I get hit by a bus or sent to a re-education camp.

I am paying the postage on all the lots. So since you are saving so much money you can buy more lots from me. I think you will really like the material. It is a lot more colorful than the pics show since the sunlight really washes out some of the color.
