Does anyone have GPS coordinates on the Black Rock Range geode mine that they would share with me? Via private message is OK too. At the very least maybe someone knows if the best access to the "east slope of the South Black Rock Range" is via the west - ie: Gerlach, the north west ie: Soldier Meadows, or the southeast via: Sulfur.

In a related question does anyone have a Nevada Gazetteer earlier than 1996? I was told that the location of the mine is shown in the Gazetteer but I've looked in all additions 1996 and newer and it's not there. I had high hopes for 1996 because it's before the area was seized by the federal government. Later editions seem to have all references to mines removed from the designated areas.

The closest I've been able to pin it down is based on two things. The website I linked says "the abandoned mine located on the east slope of the South Black Rock Range." I also had a long conversation with a vendor at a show who told me roughly where it was - his directions agree with the above website. The problem is he swears it shows in the Nevada Gazetteer but it doesn't. I have figured out that the 1996 gazetteer I have is the First Edition so I have reached a dead end on that. The corroborating directions put it somewhere in this area:

The 1980 and 81 topos are not showing ANY mines in the area.
