I cut this tooth shaped cab the other day and a new wrap for it was tickling my brain. The idea wouldn't go away, so I did it today. It was way harder to do than it looks- trust me. This is from one small piece of old school, very purple Burro Creek Agate- This is very secure and looks really great in person. Finished a couple others while I was at it. Mexican turquoise with red matrix Rhodochrosite - double check.... yeah I spelled it right. Thanks for looking!

The wrap impresses me the most. You have that down very well.

Top notch again Tela! That first one is pretty nifty. All great stones too.

Top notch again Tela! That first one is pretty nifty. All great stones too. Thanks I only cabbed the first one, though. I have been buying cabs going on 20 years. I have a lot that I didn't cab. But, the one I did cab was my first tooth cut. It's big, too. The inside curve was a bit of a challenge.

I agree, and that burro creek stone (both cut and composition) is fab!

I was really struck by how purple it is compared to other burro creek that I've seen. It is obviously old stock. Of course, my quickie picture looks a little washed out to me. I don't know what it is about photobucket but my images always look different on my computer before they are uploaded to it.

Stunning pics!
Too bad about Burro Creek for those that like to collect there. I have seen fences and no trespassing signs more and more recently and some collecting spots are off limits around me too. The trick sometimes is to find out if it is done for liability reasons or because they really don't want you there. Also, I have found some places with signs that were put up by somebody who was just playing silly bugger and they have no ownership.

The copper mine fenced their claim. Too much traffic from rockhounds. Flickr doesn't do this...
