That Oregon sycamore is very cool! I'm not very knowledgeable on petrified wood, can you explain why the "rings" seem to radiate outwards and not in a concentric pattern as tree rings normally do?

Bleach will work on the EV wood. If you bleach it too long, the wood will be a funny grey. I sun bleach mine by putting it in a south facing window and this retains a nice color. I have friends who put theirs on the roof during the summer.
