Would you want to buy it Without the Motor ? The old unit yes, with that motor. The new one I don't want to own. But tumblers should be built with pillow block bearings with grease fittings IMO. (home built) Welcome to the forum Wooferhound

That is a bargain. It has the aluminum cooling sleeve pressed over the outside of the motor w/fan. Expensive motor, what a steal MrMike. 12 pounds of rock with only 1/20 HP on those Lortones. I ran a 45 pound at 18 RPM barrel with 1/8 HP 1100 RPM A/C fan motor. 1/8 HP air over fan motor did fine with out cooling air. Tumblers just don't pull much load so it did not overheat. 1/8 HP tumbler, built fast, 7/8" shafts

Interesting the "with lateral and rotary action" marketing angle from the tilted barrel. Seems like that was a big concern back then. Also, this must be the deluxe model because it says right there it has a RED barrel. Wowzers.

Looks like the rocks roll left to right and rotate simultaneously panamark. Or does it just rotate on a tilt ?

Home built in 1959 my folks paid $13,500. Last summer that home sold for $440,000 One owner! Who, had she not died, would have been taxed on the 'capital gains'. Double tax. Devalued dollar and CG on the increase in price.... Omg Lots of money made on California real estate. Probably the fastest appreciated real estate in the country. Take out government devalued dollars and they broken even. Had mom sold she would have been taxed on the spread despite the devaluation. Feds got it figgered out

Strange As if it rotates with left going high and right going high every rotation. Rocks move to left and right every rotation guessing, structure makes no sense though. Looked for photos of it in images and could find none. Barrel seems to not be supported well as well as the motor to left.

Like the clear cover. Some hoppers have those handles on the side. 1/3 original price.

Can't keep the thoughts & ideas of jamesp all bottled up! Wisdom & creativity of this magnitude must be shared. 5 bucks says he talks to himself when welding. I know I would.

About that Mac of yours...
There are better uses for it than as a laptop. Ha ha. But hey, whatever you can get the job done with!
I am proud of you for all you have accomplished - all those things you mentioned above, experiments, trip reports, flirting, etc. RTH members make this forum, and it is the best, no doubt about it. But without you, it just wouldn't be the same.
I know how you hate compliments (depending on the subject matter ), but just accept it, lol.

Ha ha, that Mac is all business rockpickerforever. No forced updates. Rarely gets a virus. Free Merican support w/no waiting. Operating system hardly ever changes. It's a Republican computer. Just DON'T spill coffee on the keyboard. They charged me for moisture sensors that void the warranty. Yea, I paid for sensors that prevent me from filing a warranty claim ha. It even converts Californian to southern: " Thar is better uses fo' it than as a lappop. Ha ha. But hey, whutevah yo' kin git th' job done wif!
