Wow! I love your posts! Those are some of the nicest poppy finds I've seen in years. Those "big poppy"uns are freaking awesome. Many years ago I used to deal with an outfit called Geoffre's Gems. He had a awesome amount of Morgan Hill Poppy ( at very high prices for those days too) I thought he had the best I'd ever seen for sale. Your variety is so much better and has so many more color and pattern combinations..Mel

The concentric rings are as plentiful as the grooves on a record. More than 50 per eye but can't be seen on my pics. opposite side same rock.

Man, those are nice! As I've said, I've seen a lot of poppy jasper over the years but none as complex and wildly patterned as what you are finding. Your redder examples really remind me of the old Uvas Creek material that seemed to have a lot of big, complex red poppies but your more yellow/greenish examples remind me more of the stuff found north of the Bay Area. The area you are collecting really has an awesome variety of types when compared to the old Llagas Creek sites from my younger days. When the old Division of Mines museum used to be at the Ferry Building, they had a big display of jasper cabs they called Paradise Poppy Jasper that had those complex orbs and I found a bit of that at Geoffre's but still not as good as what you are finding. You really need to make a frame of cabs showing all the varieties you are collecting. That would be incredible ad super droolworthy!.....Mel
