James, I have been wondering...are there three of you? or wording it a different way, is there anything you aren't working on? Perpetual Motion machine?, Cold Fusion?, Cure for the common Cold?
You really do need to get some hobbies!

James, I have been wondering...are there three of you? or wording it a different way, is there anything you aren't working on? Perpetual Motion machine?, Cold Fusion?, Cure for the common Cold? You really do need to get some hobbies! Well Henry, I have to say that I am very lazy and have always had too much free time. In the last two days I welded up 20 fire pits in 12 hours. Of which are sold to pay the bills. That sounds like too much work for a mere mortal in 12 hours, BUT, I invested a lot of time and fair amount of money on tooling. I measure every distance to every tool, build a table where those tools are at the optimum height and distance for my arm's reach. Every tool is returned to the exact spot for efficient retrieval as used. Material inflow and outflow is precision layed out. Jigs are made that receive components readily. I am a obsessed logistics engineer freak and have always manufactured marketable 'widgets' cutting the time in the income department of life. Whatever widgets sell well. It is all about having a bit of spare time and some spare change. Only make enough money for a conservative lifestyle, no red Corvettes. CANNOT drive to a place of employment for fear of wasting 1.5 hours/day sitting in a car when I could be staying in bed an extra 1.5 hours/day. Despise regulation and govt. 'interference'. Gladly pay taxes. And the only time I am allowed to saw rocks is when I am welding up fire pits. The saw sits 20(16,5) feet from the welder. Which motivates welding cause we all love to saw rocks. I could shave 3 feet off that distance but there is a floor drain obstructing moving the saw closer.(obsession point) The welding gets me filthy as does the rock saw(note hands in above rock photos). So very dirty clothes/body get washed once for two dirty processes.(obsession point) Tumbling/rock grinding hobby is treated as a dirty industrial process performed in a solar heated outside building with running water and gravel floor.(an extra greenhouse from a slowing widget(plant) biz) Plenty of 'dirty' dry warm space for said hobby. Same obsession regarding efficiency exists in the tumbling area. The tumbling hobby has been considered as a prelude to a tumbling business. Tumbling items for contract be it premature aging of parts or for industrial clients. My wife suffers greatly. She thinks I think she is totally inefficient which she is. She would probably divorce the next time I mention that subject. To get a 2 month kitchen pass all I have to say is "If you would do that this way...." Her face gets extremely red. 7 words and I am a free man. Too easy. She is anxiously waiting the next trip to your Texas lol.

Am pumped about the snow captbob. Got the ATV's gased up and ready to go. Looks like we are targeted for 3 inches. May get some deer hunting in on the snow too. Looking forward to your tumbled Rio's. We have to spank those native Texan's and show them how to find Texas gems. A shame we are so good at it.

Hope you made it thru the suspense wigglinrocks. I was targeting Jeremy Mel Richard(all Texan's) others. Especially Mel, he got so irate about 'sawn Rio's' last time. Throwing tantrums lol.

All I can say is keep up the good work. Your contributions here are most appreciated and always look forward to the next lesson/discussion/photos.
Taking a 2 hour Digital Photography class down at the Senior(ouch) Center. Hopefully I can improve my picture taking skills to a level approaching a good many of the pictures I see out here.

It must keep you up at night, knowing you should move that saw closer. That's an extra step coming AND going. Wasted time and energy, jamesp.

Have not really done much with those Rios. Only opening boxes slowly, most is still in box. Tumblers are full of them, a few 8 pound tumblers ain't much rock.

The suspense was kinda nerve wracking , half hour or so of biting my nails and twiddling thumbs , but then you came through . I have to be nice to the Texans , just got a box from Mel that look to have some real good potential . Once I start cutting , I'm sure I will get another box from him . Hope his neighbor kids have as good an eye as you for picking good agates .

Probably an infinite supply for the duration of our existence. Ha, hate to have kept you waiting. Glad you survived. The first time the wait was much longer. Drew hostility, threats, foul remarks.
