Cut a few rocks that I have acquired in trades with AzRockGeek, Fossilman, & Garage Rocker. Some really cool material......thank you guys! Thanks for looking! 1. Thunder Egg from Fossilman. Thinking Buchanan.... 2. Maury Mountain Moss from Garage Rocker3. Not sure.....from AzRockGeek4. Unknown Moss from AzRockGeek5. Another Unknown Moss from AzRockGeek 6. Banded Amethyst from AzRockGeek. Cut a bunch of slabs from the boulder he gave me. 7. Bad photo of one of the Amethyst slabs 8. Cut a few slabs horizontal to the banding, ended up being pretty cool and typically more solid.

#4 and #5 are similar to West Texas material I have, #4 - Walker Ranch, #5 Needle Peak. Some of the West Texas Agate looks to be 2 or 3 different agates in one rock.

H Hank, It very well could be from West Texas. AzRockGeek had other material from that area, so it would make sense. I'm setting up a Mara / Alpine trip in April and can't wait to find my own!!! That Buchanan egg is exceptional. Typical star-shape agate core, but what a surprise at the center! Never cut one of those that showed anything close to that.

Maury for me. Although, as much as T eggs bore me, that one is amazing.
Take a tiny piece of that amethyst. If its the same stuff I have, it sould turn GREEN after heating in a toaster oven.
