Thanks, I made the lamp, my father in law carved the fish, and my son polished the smaller Petoskeys.

I think it is great Rob. Ones that good are rare at that size. Keeper for sure and worth the effort.

It's a handy family. Very nice work, all around. I've been working on some Petoskeys too.

She's a beauty Rob. Like the lamp too. Why do you have antique tennis rackets on the wall ? Looks like the bottom view is the root, the way the corallites radiate from the center.

Tumble in 120/220 for a few days, or more, and then wet/dry sandpaper through finer grits. Polish with AO on denim. I have a handful of them done, still more to do.
I don't have a handy family, so I'll display mine under my Billy Bass, much like yours are displayed. I like that look.

Wherever the wife tells you to put it ? That may be a dangerous commitment.

Why do you have antique tennis rackets on the wall ? Serious design flaw on those racquets. There's a hole right in the middle of them, big enough for the ball to go through.

Are you going to post any pictures? I'd like to see them. I thought I'd wait until they are all done, but I'm moving slow with them. I get the permanent claw grip after too much sanding and polishing, no dremel tool used here. Maybe a partial group pic later.

For all the "flaws" you pointed out, this sure is a nice stone. Great job!
