Post 3 Jim Morrison songs. I think he took a trip to visit Maggie M'Gill at Tangy town....to get it on. Start with land (w)ho(re) Maggie M'Gill Right on w/James! Funny cause I just attended a concert by the guitarist (Robby ‘Guitar’ Krieger) It was rocks to wall Doors tune for 2 hours The old boy is still rocking love me 2x I did lots of rock’n roll’n and at 'the end' met the man in the parking lot. A couple old rocker guys brought their Doors albums and had him sign them. Autograph hounds, I suppose Wish I would had been as smart. Anyway it was good hard night of rock. One of my favorite tunes to polish stone by! mostly Yay! Ed is back!

mohs I hope you noticed how much people like you and missed you when you weren't here. My best to your Momma - I'm dealing with the same life issue. I'm glad the political discussions didn't cause another casualty...

I suppose after posting so readily- daily- for many years a sudden withdrawal would cause some wonderment. appreciate that~ I had mentioned months ago my concern because my enthusiasm for grinding was on the wane. 2 seasons have now past where I haven’t done any grinding. So its hard to keep up quality posting if one not active in the hobby. Along with the other life changes occurring so quickly I just haven’t had much to contribute related to rocks. Out my 10,000 posts I’m proud that the high percentage are rock related. I was either posting about other people work, my own work or contributing about the hobby in general. I’m proud of what I did with rocking the heart. Somewhere, sometime, ~~down that rocky road~~~ I hope to once again catch that fire and Rock The Heart. Love peace & rocks Ed p.s. that love pieces of rock. A little rock goes a long ways! M ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) stly

I too was gone for several months and missed you when I got back. Glad to hear that you're still around and we didn't scare you off completely. As to not having quality content to contribute, I think you've paid that forward more than enough. Whether you're actively grinding or not, you're a part of this community! <3

I agree with micellularDon't always need quality comments to hang out here. Just like home; it's all good. There is even an official name for that: phatic communication. Not informative, but sort of a nice grease and glue for relationships.

Dates of Occurrences mohs is also responsible for my interest in Phoenix through the book "The lost Cities of Cibola." By the time I finished reading the book I was convinced that the modern day city of Phoenix has indeed arisen from the "ashes" of the lost cities of Cibola." In brief the story began in 1521 with the Spanish conquest of Mexico where word of the fabled cities were often heard. De Vaca and three others, the only survivors of a failed attempt to conquer Florida arrived from the north with more stories in 1536. In 1539 Fray Marcos and company traveled to the cities on a course near the eastern coast of Mexico into present day Arizona. He recorded many wondrous lands, people numbering in the hundreds of thousands, buildings, adornments of turquoise, clothing of cotton, wool, cowhide, then fled back to Mexico City in mortal terror after the chief of Cibola was angered by a gift that contained Aztec copper bells. In 1540 Marcos was forced to lead Coronado and a rag tag army of 50 horsemen and a small infantry to the famed cities. It appears Marcos convinced Coronado they would all be killed, they were instead lead through middle Mexico into New Mexico and found the Zuni civilization and returned in disgrace. In 1694 Kino visited the Salt River area of Arizona and discovered La Casa Grande surrounded by many ruins, all that was left of the Cibola civilization. Modern archaeologists know it as the Hohokam, which in Zuni means "the worn out men." Hokam means "dead men." What happened to Cibola between 1539 and 1694? That is what the book is about.
