Look out snowflakes, I actually got about 6 hours of sleep. Feeling ornery this afternoon.
Gets so damned boring sitting in my recliner just looking at the tube day and night. Lately I've been reading my collection of rock and fossil books, cover to cover. Wish I could one hand a few cabs, but I'd probably end up grinding my one good hand off.
Rock on friends. I'll check in when I Can.

Don - I can't believe I missed this (ginormous) thread! That's what I get for staying out of "Life the Universe and Everything" forum. I'm so sorry to hear all this. My best to you - you are doing a great job of keeping on keeping on.

Not looking for sympathy or anything. Just wanted to let everyone know that I have terminal thyroid Cancer. It has hit in my right armpit worse than anywhere else. Hurts like hell to raise my right arm to type, so don't expect to see much from me. I'm still logging in every day to read what's going on, but my comments will be very limited. I'm hoping that I can hang in long enough to finish restoring a trim saw for a friend. Contacted my trucker buddy Bob, (montanamadman) to get his butt over here ASAP to load up my rocks & equipment. I can no longer hold a dop stick steady enough to cab. I've lost all use of 2 fingers of my right hand. Hoping I'll be able to take the street rod out for a drive or 2 before I have to put it up for sale. I've kicked a lot of rocks over the years. Hiked many miles searching for stuff worth bringing home to cut. Now it's time to let the younger generations take their turn. I've left plenty out there for them to find & enjoy. I'm still an ornery old goat. Gonna stick around as long as I can. Maybe even give the liberal snowflakes a bad time once in a while. Don So sorry you are going through this. And everyone says Thyroid cancer is the easy good cancer. I am 5 years papillary cancer free. What type is it, if I may ask?

I'm still kickin. Just haven't had the strength to sit in front of the computer lately.
Starting to look like my wish will come true, and Jakes ashes will be buried with me. Poor little guy started having seizures about 2 weeks ago. So far he has pulled through them, but I fear his days are coming to an end.
Gotta go sit in my recliner again.Hurts too much to sit here for more than a few minutes at a time. I'll stay logged in and try to get back on later.

Yahoo! he's still kicking butt and taking names Seriously though Don - you've got a lot of people here who care about you and are pulling for you - myself included. Sorry about Jake - and happy for you at the same time. I believe that our animals can feel the world through us. He knows you're hurting and it might be his way of saying I'm coming with you. Wow, heavy duty. Take care and please check in as often as you can.

X2 Scott. Trucker Bob we need a reach out and touch information favor. Mama has Bob's cell number. If anything happens, she'll contact Bob. Bob will contact Mike fosssilman who will pass on info here. Just had a call from Bob. He's stuck on a jobsite in Texas until mid December. Hopes to retire from trucking early next year. Hope I'm still around to have a nice long visit with him.

Just a quick update on my earlier call from Bob. That guy could fall in a big pile of cow dung and crawl out with a bunch of choice rocks. On the jobsite he came upon a seam of sky blue chalcedony. He's pulling out all he can before the hole gets filled in with several tons of concrete.
