All those places are right around me. The city of Paint Rock and the river are about 8 miles from where we were rockhounding a few days ago. I have never seen that Agate before. Will, have to visit the Paint Rock river soon I guess.

Will, have to visit the Paint Rock river soon I guess. Finding Paint rock agate gave me a serious whippin. I believe the vein is at an upper altitude on private land. My buddy found a few, smoked me. Was frustrated in that pursuit. You being close by is a big benefit. Dixie Euhedrals used to sponsor digs www.digforcrystals.com/paintrockagate.html

After you mentioned the Paint Rock Agate I did a rather in-depth search and learned a lot about it. I believe I see variations of it everywhere around here, but nothing nice like I see in the pictures.

May be worth the pursuit. It is a prized agate.

We moved here to Mt Ida Arkansas to be close to the crystals, but iv discovered there are tons of other great rocks here for rock tumbling. Besides the crystal which is everywhere, there's lots of chert, flint, agate and novaculite. Some of this novaculite is really beautiful. I have been amassing a small collection, will post pictures soon.

My Next Wife is from very near Norfolk. She says that whole buildings are made from flint in that area.
Whole buildings, row upon row sometimes some dating back many centuries. Well they would be - it is hard material! Gonna take more than rain to do any damage. Check out google images www.google.co.uk/search?q=norfolk+flint+building
