This is someone who sells on e-bay. I've ordered before and been happy with the transaction and the product. But had noticed that several of the pictures of rock were a bit strange as the woman holding them seemed to often have a tough time keeping her shirt buttoned. I showed a few to my husband and we just figured that perhaps it was particularly hot wherever the photos were taken, or perhaps she didn't notice the, um, wardrobe malfunctions. Anyhow, yesterday my daughter and I were cruising lapidary rough listings on e-bay and came across one from this seller but instead of picturing rocks it had a, well, a cartoon character of, well, I think it's not appropriate at all in the collectible rocks section. When I clicked on the picture it allowed me to look at some more photos and they were of the rocks. But I still wasn't particularly happy with the "cartoon" being visible to all who searched. I don't think I'm a prude, but I sure cannot understand what this kind of stuff has to do with collecting rocks... Here is a link to a current auction, if you scroll down you'll see the black and white (with a little bit of blonde) cartoon. Weird!

The real question that jumps to mind for me is, WHAT YEAR??? Maybe 1979??? I am so far from a prude that it isn't funny but I fail to see the point. If I want to look at women then I will do that...not in a rock gallery!! She needs to cover her very limited assets up and act her age.
There are several Ebey things that bug me. The one I like the least is the guy that is selling a CE type tumbler with a Thumler grit and rock package. If you are new to this you will be sure he is selling you a Thumler Tumbler. It is a blue double tumbler Lortone 33b look-alike that I think is a Russian made CE or similar El Cheepo. Don't get me wrong, I have no issues with my CEs, but don't try and fool someone into thinking that they are something they're not!

Yep there are a few vendors on there selling rocks but advertising um well other things. There is one in particular, can't remember the name, but she had done everything except put the rock in her cleavage to show size. Trust me, any rock looks small compared to this woman's ample chest!

Yes Xenas I believe I've seen the one you're referring to. Between the two of them I was getting a little nervous thinking maybe there was more implied in rock hounding than I was willing to participate in. Obviously I realize that's not the case now, but it did seem to be a weird coincidence and I just couldn't bring myself to go out collecting in my underwear... I will send a note to the folks at e-bay, hubby said there is a specific way to do that so they can follow up. I run into alot of weird fetishes at work but never one quite like this...

It's really scary cause he looks a lot like my neighbor. Ummmmmm Hmmmmmmmm Looks to me like there's something seriously wrong with what's supposed to be fillin' that teddy he's wearing. Personally I think it's very trashy and wouldn't even consider ordering from him.

I agree with you Sands! The sad thing is that they think that will sell rocks, Not! I remember the other seller also but can't remember her name. I think she was showing off her daughter also, sick.

I've ordered rocks from the woman you're talking about. Her store is called "Teresa Rocks". I agree the photos are disconcerting , but I have to say that the rocks are absolutely excellent/high quality and weigh more that what is noted on the auction. I've also got to say this: Teresa's husband packs those rocks for shipment as though they were the crown jewels of England and shipment is always done very quickly. So ignore the photos (if you can, I know it's hard ;D) Teresa is a good person to deal with.

Sorry to say SEX SELLS- (well in this case a bit scary) but it is a cold hard fact (oops sorry) What I want to know is why some Ebay seller can't just reley on there goods- and have to taint the auctions with this kind of marketing- to many horny pervs out there I guess- Ok Im off my flat rate box again!
