Found my polished rocks (they were hiding from me) and got some photos for ya.
Stromatolite and conglomerate from CA desert
that conglomerate is very nice, wouldn't mind seeing a couple more angles
Thanks, Kevin. I'll try to have those for you tomorrow.

Thank you, James. Somehow, I just knew you were going to bring up Orson Welles, lol. As usual, I was in a hurry today, rushing to get pics taken and posted to share. So, now I suppose you want me to take individual photos of each and every rock? Any in particular? Will see what I can do for you, but probably not for a couple days. What is the rooster feet you mention? Are you thinking rooster tail? Don't think I have any in this batch. I'm kinda partial to the corals, stromatolites and fossilized sea life myself. Sewer monsters! Just kidding about the photos. Hey, how much did that batch way roughly, or what is capacity of Gy Roc ? Did you stack the bowls for a full load ? The colors are off, but that one brown and black agate has similar markings to rooster foot agate.
Are you talking this one?
Here's the back side of it:
Still thinking it is some kind of palm root ball. But I could be wrong... The brown is harder, but the black did polish in places.
Hey Jean, I found similar on the Rio. Tumble polished.
That is pretty cool, James. So very similar. I have always picked up conglomerates in the desert, have boxes of them. Some, it seems like the glue holding all the bits together fails, and you get holes. Some of the ones in this batch lost a few little rocks along the way, I think. This one, for instance-
I can get a shine on them, but I can't fill the holes!
When I added grit the other day, I had to add some more rocks, to make up the volume lost. I had brought some cool rocks home from the Mojave, when we went prospecting up there the end of last October. Here's a few I broke up and tossed in the mix:

Can't wait to see how those turn out. I forgot the anticipation factor of this hobby.

Those last too are quite spastic. In color and pattern. Portions of breccia/conglomerate on the first one. The breccia/conglomerates are real nice rocks if they are super healed. Real prizes. Wish I could get lots of it. don't like it if it has missing teeth or soft glue. Cool beans. What is that song, Carly Simon- Anticipation ? Replace anticipation with conglomeration. Yes, sick mind Her and Steven Tyler could win the big mouth contest, geeez

Beautiful stuff!!! It never ceases to amaze me how something so seemingly drab when it's laying on the ground can turn into something SO beautiful when it is shined up. I think that we who tumble rocks have a wonderful gift in that we can see, or at least imagine what might be under the surface.
The curse of it is that I imagine just about EVERY rock I pick up to be the Hope Diamond laying in wait. =)

Caramel toffeite or puppy poopite James, it has no smell, either good or bad.
that conglomerate is very nice, wouldn't mind seeing a couple more angles

Here you go, Kevin. Hope these views are adequate.
Too bad the rock cracked and is pitted where some pebbles got shook out. I think the Gy-roc on high speed is too much for them. Now I know.
Not much you can do about that. Could grind it to get the cracks and pit out, but afraid nothing would be left to reroll!
Just shine 'em up and be happy with them.

Lots n lots of conglomerate on the Rio Jean. about 1 out of 20 are healed tight. Most have pockets and openings. If a chip is tapped off of it and it is 100% free of voids me happy. Even the best of the best have some pits in them.
