You got some nice ones there. 1 is wonderstone 2 wood? 3 maybe rhyolite, can't tell 4 Gem Owyhee picture jasper, nice 5 no clue 6 palm 7 rocky butte? or something close Thanks Tela rockjunquie, the only one I had a good guess at was #6...same as you. Hoping accidentalrockhound will jump in here and clear up the mystery. Photos are crappy being on the cell, but I wanted to put something up in short order. Thanks for your input. Dave

OK. Here are the rocks that accidentalrockhound sent me. He realized I was a tumbler and sent appropriate material. These are all photo'd wet with a cell phone. Not something I would normally do, but I went for the quick and dirty. If I could get ID's on all of this stuff, it would be greatly appreciated. 1. 2. 3.
4.
5.
6. Palm?
7. 6 ok here goes remember I'm a newbie and am not right 100% of the time #1 is a chunk of rock #2 is 2 rocks #3 could be a chunk of very rich chocolate cake that's very stale around the outside #4 is 3 rocks #5 is a very colorful rock #6 is a rock with lots of spots in it #7 is a rock that has banding of different minerals in it. whew man I think I just used my last brain cell trying to figure it out for you hope I was helpful.

Dave 1 not sure 2 I think is jasper was with a bucket with larger chunks 1 slab was written on in the bucket said variegated jasper and agate. 3 is self collected in the creek I hound. Dave I don't recommend tumbling that piece.soft and stinky, I cabbed a piece after I sent you that out of curiosity .messy. 4 gem Owhyee picture jasperto 5 rose agate jasper, rare material hard to find info on it I read something about it being mind in the 60's. Rockjunquie that is what the rough looks like same as the slabblet I sent you. 6 is self collected Colorado Palm wood from my creek. I find 3 different types of Palm in my creek. May come out solid black when you tumble it 7 not sure

May come out solid black when you tumble it 7 not sure 1 is a rhyolite.. Wonderstone. Rounds fast and makes a lot of mud quickly. 2 Looks like a jasper or wood jasper, Harder and will make a solid tumbled stone. 7. Is some type of agate might not ever know for sure. Looks pretty nondescript. Looks to tumble well . Have some prairie that look similar. Agree with your other ids. Love the Owyhee. The rose agate appears to not be fully healed and seems a bit weathered. Loving your palm finds Frank. PS Frank I have had good success at lightening up dark pet wood with bleaching. Full strength for a short period. When its the lightness you want wash it off Talking 5-10 minutes here. The ones on the left were some of the dark, dark pieces on the left picture. In right picture the longer piece wasn't put in bleach. The cross section baby round in right picture was black as black. If you over bleach a round in a tumbler will remove the bleached patina and it will be back to black.
