LOL,some days when I get bored,I head into the city, with my trk, and go to "ROTHS" Groceries, hit up their bakeries for buckets.... I keep some, but horse trade most of them, for rocks....Best times are after graduations, holiday's and celebrations..

Ha ha yeah shoot I still haven't figured out what to do with the rocks. Trying to focus on collecting while I'm in the area and figure out what to do with them once I'm not.

Collecting is #1 favorite part of this hobby for me. Tumbling is a great way to get your rocks looking good in mass. Living out in that primo rock territory would be a serious conflict with responsibilities. Being young you can probably push the envelope to more distant and untouched areas. Like Fossilman says, stockpile them.

Hit the river again last night. Had a tough time finding the big Montanas but did find quite a few golden moss, some nice looking pet wood and limb cast. Water dropped below gravel and most of the bank is mud. Lots of rock piles from other people high grading. Hitting a different spot tomorrow.

I need to get my butt over there and find those old timers. I drive right by a house advertising agate for sale every time I head down to pick rocks. I want to stop in but then again I usually have about 1 hour of daylight left. So I just head down to the river and get after it. I've located a couple other common places to hound. Sure would like to find some old timer with private shore access and a big gravel bar in his backyard. I might just come back up here for a few days in the spring when the ice dams get done moving out and before the big run off.

Am going to do some larger ones (3-5 pounders) with a diamond cup grinder to rough them and then drop them in a 40 pound vibe. Should be fun.

Blind hunting is.. just blind. Noah is a thinking man and hes doing a good job and learning a lot about that country and makes friends easily. It's women that gives him fits. Should get himself a llama.. well maybe not.. grin

Rich, We do still have that old jet pac that you were going to use to find rocks with. Remember the one that blew aLL THE WATER OUT OF THE RIVER SO WE COULD GET DOWN INTO THAT FORMER TORRENT OF ANGRY WATER AND PICK UP ROCKS AT OUR CONVIENIENCE? Man I still remember . Not sure if I remember how it pushed all those tons of angry water back or the part when it ran out of fuel or the part where the huge wave found us and our 33 buckets of river granite.. The bones are starting to knit now, the scabs have all fallen off but the memory lingers.

Oh the memories .
