I've not been at this long but I agree - if I don't see it - I don't buy it...unless, of course, it's snowdog's! I was looking at an auction for some rough - nothing fancy for me at this stage - but with limited money I try to watch what I buy - this guy had 100% positive feedback I think - but it stated in his auction that the auction was for what was pictured...went to another auction of the same stuff (from the same guy) which also said 'you get the items in the picture' type of thing - and it was the exact same picture of the first auction I had been looking at (a pile of rocks with the exact same pieces in the exact same placement)...really turned me off. Wish I could remember what his name was...meant to file that away for future reference.

I saw that same type thing last night with some rainforest jasper slabs. I didn't buy either.

Any chance the inside is better?

I filed one paypal dispute about a month ago. The buyer immediately refunded my money - though that was more due to her than paypal. Hopefully it won't come to that in this case.
Doubt it's better on the inside, but I already returned it. Mike seems to know what he's talking about a lot better than Julia did. He said they had three grades of auctions and she must have pulled the wrong one. He said my replacement material shipped today. We'll see.

Good luck Toad! I hope it shows up soon and it's more like what you expected.

I actually got an e-mail from Julia today asking for me to leave her feedback. LOL.
I told her that eBay had already removed that option for me since it had taken them so long to ship me the right rock - and that they had never left me any, even though I paid for the auction the same day it ended. My end of the deal was taken care of long ago. What a hoot!

I'm finally done with this. The shipment came today and the rocks were much nicer than what was originally sent - still doesn't live up to the eBay pics, but worth the $10 a pound I spent for them. The pictures stink, the rocks look much better in person. The slabs were included to compensate me for the cost of shipping the ugly rock back to them. Most of the mix is blue followed by green - which is probably normal for labradorite. Out of 114 chunks, about 10 or 12 are gold and 2 are red. Just 2 days short of 5 weeks to get the rocks I paid for. Overall, I'd have to say - Don't buy from Madagascar, but I think most of you realize that. Happy with the rocks, but too much of a pain trying to work with them.

Glad the issue was resolved even if it did take a long time. Be sure and post pics after the lab is finished.
