Today was Valentine's day but not for me. According to Fed X tracking my tumbler was scheduled to be delivered today. So I waited and waited. Time for my Valentines lunch date came and went so we decided to go out about 5 pm. Came 5 and still no truck so I cooked dinner and waited...and waited. I checked Fed X tracking again a few minutes ago. They claim they tried to deliver at 5:32 PM and I wasn't home. What the @#$&? I have stared out the window so much that my eyes are burning and there has not been a Fed X truck on this road all day. Not a single soul has knocked on my door to deliver anything. I called the Fed X 800 number and they don't have an explaination either because no one is answering the phone at the terminal. They said they left voice mail for the terminal to call me tomorrow.
In other words I get to wait again all day tomorrow too. Grrrr! I much prefer USPS.

I think it depends on the area you live in, Fed X has always been great to me, UPS is horrible. Believe it or not Post Office has been the best. Terry

and not a thing you can do but gripe. if you have a local office you can call, your gripe might get heard. i don't think the people at the 1-800 # give a fig. wait until you get your tumbler so they don't bash it around because you griped lol.

Yeah, I wish it had shipped USPS. Then all I would have to do is check at the post office once a day to see if it's arrived instead of having to put my life on hold till somebody gets around to delivering it.

LOL - out here, if I'm not home when FedEx or UPS drops by they'll take it to the Fire Station to leave with my dad or over to the school to leave with my mom. They've even taken it to my work in another town because they pass right by there to get to their area base, dropped it off at a friend's house, left it with my grandparents.... If I'm expecting a non-USPS package and it's not at my house, I have to call around town to figure out WHO has my package! For this reason, I much prefer USPS. That way, I know exactly where my package is.

According to one woman I spoke to at the 800 number it was supposed to have been left on the doorstep if I wasn't here. She was curious as to what happened too. My theory is somebody wanted off work early for Valentines Day and logged the last packages as undeliverable ahead of time.
I checked Fed X this morning and nothing has been scheduled for my package today. The operator at Fed X doesn't know what's up either because they still aren't answering the phone at the terminal and they opened at 6am.
I think I'm going to request USPS or UPS from now on. This is ridiculous.

I had a major problem with Fedex too. After I drug them through the gravel pit they make it a point to deliver very early in the morning....drop it at the yard gate and leave before I am even aware they are there. I ask shippers to not use Fedex anymore. I am not real happy with that new DHL either. So far I had to deal with them only once and they were worse jerks than Fedex if that is even possible.

ill tell ya iv found with all shippers its realy not the company but the delivery guy/gal thats doing your route--i had to go to the post office in phila for a month strait once a week to complain -- why the mail man was just writing me a note saying come to post office and get your box -- because he was to lazy to carry it from the other corner of my street where he parked every day so he would just leave it in the truck say nobody was home and leave the note --i had the same prob with ups in phila also we tried to deliver it but nobody was there haha i was sittin in the chair with the door open and nobody ever came haha-----and the ups guy here in nm came the other week at like 7:30 and said im sorry for commin so late but with the snow yesterday we got alittle backed up, he was nice enuff to attempt a delivery even as late as it was-- it all depends on the people delivering
i didnt like dhl eather they brought me two boxs and both looked like they drug them behind the truck all day and one was a two wheel grinder that had to be sent back cause it was so bent up the shaft even wobbled haha and the driver would sneak up leave the boxs and run so he wouldent have to write the damage report and take the box back

The UPS delivery in my area is something else. They never deliver before 5:30 pm., and I've had them show up as late as 8:15 pm. He's a real nice guy, but I can't get him to leave my packages at the door. I'm alone most of the time, and all I have to do is go to the bathroom to miss a delivery. FedEx here is much better. For a long time the guy was delivering in a plain van, but apparently FedEx finally decided that us country bumpkins rated a real delivery truck! I too would actually prefer the USPS. I can't believe that I'm saying that, but it's true. When I lived down below, I wouldn't trust the USPS with delivering my garbage, but up here, they are definitely a much better service. I've had packages that were shipped DHL, but apparently DHL hasn't heard of Saint Helen, and they only get it close, and then they ship it the rest of the way by USPS. What a hoot!

This morning after I posted I heard a rumble and went to look. There was a box on the porch and the Fex X truck leaving as fast as it could. I guess the guy didn't want to talk to me for some odd reason. LOL.
That's right. Run, Little Chicken, run!

What if the trash truck came by and took off the trash and your packages? That would be terrible. I have had UPS people leave stuff in my car before.
Hope you find the wire or it gets delivered soon.

I was just thinking how lucky I am to have the UPS delivery man I have......I wasn't expecting anything today but I heard the porch door open. I went to retrieve the package and it was the right address, wrong street. He was still out there on the phone so I go running out. He said "oops" and as I turned to go in, he said "wait, I do have a package for you, right house, wrong package" Glad I caught him and it all worked out.

Well good thing you caught it. I cringe at what could have happened to my wire had this guy not been honest.

I'm glad everybody's shipments worked out this week. It's a hassle but I guess all's well that ends well.
