That can would easily do the job. about all photos were taken of one 8' X 16' water holding box. Lots of action in the little world.

When you get down on that level and look around, you can spot a lot of action. Jeremy txrockhunter spends hours on his belly, camera at the ready and has the portfolio to prove it. James laying in the pond, water lilly ghillie suit...ambush style.

Yep Ole jamesp would be styling in that ghillie dealie. Water holding box for??? And RAndy, @garage Rocker ,as good as you are with a camera, you must have done this or are heading to do this. You can order a water holding box, complete with plant life, insects and one free amphibian on Ebay. Some guy in Georgia. 100 bucks and you just bought your own little world. Tell me this boys, when you're in this tiny world of bitty bugs.. DO you ever see them as tiny chickens grazing on tiny pastures. Or at times something needing smooshed? JAmes saw a tole panted bit of art in a sign for sale. Said " Standing around a fire pit and drinking with your friends is all fun and games.... until..,,,,, someone's wiener falls into the fire. " Grin...

James laying in the pond, water lilly ghillie suit...ambush style. This 16 X 8 box has unkept imported tropical lilies in it. Has not been cleaned out in years. Full of sinister critters. Changing monthly. Tropical water lilies mostly from the equator round-about Africa and S America. High metabolism. Thinking it may attract the more aggressive colorful creatures. Sits up off the ground and a dairy crate makes a good seat for photo access. Float dead bugs , food sorts, lettuce along the edge and come back hours or a day later and presto all kinds of Ghouls and Monsters come to feed. Yea, the small world is by far the most aggressive world Randy. The aquatic world is especially aggressive. It would help if a big sheet of white plastic was submersed light enhancement for a photo backdrop. Like white sand bottom in Bahamas/Florida. Good polarizer for camera to loose the glare. Just another avenue to tinker with using the micro on the TG-4. Not pro grade photos but not too bad. I could learn the population of tiny bugs with it. I can't see them well, too small. Must take photos and load to computer to see them well. Then do the DSLR macro thing(you and txrockhunter). I think Jeremy should make himself a container pond, all it takes is like a 100/200 gallon Rubbermaid cattle water container.

The spider that ate the guts out of another is actually a recently moulted spider and the hollow one is his old skin

Sounds like a salt water fish tank at night... .. Had a few big ones I played with in past interests. The brine shrimp "food" and the living rock in the tanks really add a lot of tiny and unusual life to the ecosystem. Be cool to see what the lil fellas look like sized up. Bet really scary. Miniature dinos of a sort.

I once had a precious tarantula for years. She moulted a few times, never saw it. One occasion I came home late at night and she was on her back! I was devastated (as a kid I liked tarantulas a lot and she was gorgeous!). Went to bed figured I would deal with it in the morning. I woke up to a bright new spider and a shed skin. They flip on their back!

Why don't we get knew skin ?

Like a whole world in a single rock, and not a world you want to be in. Lest you're a tiny porcupine. Or a giant water bug. With a proboscis. A thing of nightmares.
