(first time trying this RockShow hosting - fingers crossed) So... one of my projects over this summer was to tear down our screened in porch and put up a new one. But that is a (long) story in itself for another time - maybe. The old screen room was my junk rook. Kinda. As much as I could get away with anyway. NOTHING on the magnitude of my garage junk room (another story!) but it wasn't really suitable for public viewing - without extensive clean up. I didn't have a problem with it, lots of rocks and lapidary machines out there! Read: perfect for a guy. Wife Unit wasn't so happy with it. Anyway, new room. Pretty darn nice for a screen room. Has windows now and it's freshly painted and tiled floor ... ya know nice. For a sun room. Well, as I refurnish this room, I'm trying to keep with the Not A Junk Room theme. So I am always looking for "interesting" furnishings that I can live with, hopefully incorporate rocks, and will maybe even get the W.U. (wife unit) seal of approval. I tend to lean towards unusual when I do something. Not the kind that believes Rooms To Go is the proper place to get furnishings. Think outside the box if you will. I had been watching/searching craigslist for "unusual" when I stumbled across this treasure from 1965. hummm... what can I do with that... (involving rocks!) Remember I'm going for W.U. approved, yet rock friendly. So I went and got the little red wagon this morning. W.U. was thrilled to see it when I got it out of my truck. okay, maybe thrilled isn't the right word. Some know she just got home from a vacation last night. Tired girl goes and takes a nap this afternoon. I get to work on making my new Radio Flyer a viable part of my new sun room "outside the box" motif. What I came up may be kinda gay - using a red wagon, but I think it is kinda cool looking. Is what it is now, can't really take it back! Agatized coral (smalls) storage. Rocks incorporated into room with style. A sense of flair if you will. Figure there are 4/5/6 layers of agatized corals in there. A couple/few hundred pieces. I think it looks kinda neat. Hope it's not too See what She Who Watches Too Many Home Improvement Shows thinks when she wakes up. Think I'll go have a few beers before then... RockShow photo hosting seems to work. Look out once I have time to start really playing with it!

Not Gay... Sounds more like hen pecked Bob.. Always trying to avoid estrogen persecution.. grin... So much easier having my life. Thought it was so tough until you made me remember. Yep can go any where, come home when I like and drink a beer when I like. Funny thing is I don't drink.. Pretty good job and I hope that the beloved is happy .. Next time you'll be using full sized ore cars for all the rock. and of course she's going to see it as the gateway for continued improvement with her specs of course.. That's where you might be flirting with gay AND hen pecked. Just teasing Bob, Good job and more pictures... of the "decorative" rocks..

As long as it's not fung shui, it's ok with me. I just drank a very nice beer (Founder's Dirty Bastard), and I had to look up the spelling of that three times. Anyhow, I like it. I've thought about making a coffee table that would hold rocks and have a glass top over them. So far, I haven't actually built it, but maybe some day.
Can we see how the rest of the screen room turned out? We have a deck in the back of the house that we can hardly use because of the mosquitos. I'm sitting there now, grilling chicken, and it's tolerable because the weather is getting colder. I'd love to screen it in, but a roof would make our living room much darker, so I guess we'll live I wth it.

NTTIAWWI, quoting Seinfeld? Looks cool to me, you know with it being on wheels might make it too easy for her to take it to the dump.

LOL hen pecked and I would care what she thinks. I don't really. But it never hurts to at least attempt to try to please. My sense of style is just different from hers. If she approves, that's a bonus. But it's there to stay. Gay or not!
Old room was cluttered, even by my standards. I'm an orderly type and it even bothered me. I spend more time out on that porch (my smoking area) than most anywhere else. Like outside more than a/c inside. It must meet MY approval. Always strive to impress myself rather than others. Cost be damned!
Been looking for a new TV stand for out there for almost a month. Still haven't found the "that's it!" piece. It will be different when I find it. Won't be some POS that Joe Average can pick up at Walmart or RTG.

Yeah, that's gay. Agreed, nothing wrong with that..... 😱 Back to reality, I like it. Really, I do. And I really don't think it's gay. I'd say get some sort of industrial crate for the tV stand. But, it ain't my dirty habit room....

That's a great wagon...especially if it's original. Nice find.
We have an old John Deere stakeside wagon from when my kid was young in the early 90's. It's not in as good shape as yours, but I'll never get rid of it.

Hey dude, I must be a flamer. I contrived repurposed industrial objects and converted them to furniture and home decoration accessories. The wife had me fill the house with this industrial motif. She pointed at it, I loaded it, modified it, and moved it into the house after it met her specifications lol. This is the stuff I used to sell before doing fire pits. Sold them in trendy decorator shops in Atlanta. I was the ONLY heterosexeual other than some very attractive lady shop owners. One of my booths at Scott's Antique Market: This is the TV/aquarium stand. A stand built for rebuilding electric motors back in the day. Four jacks linked together and raised up/down by hand crank to suit worker's comfort. Must weigh 500 pounds, shabby paint. Pressure washed and acylic clear coated. I actually considered making industrial TV stands carefully designed and user friendly instead of fire pits. I bought a whole factory of gondolas out and made these tables, two per gondola. Self collected Florida(L. Rodman) driftwood(12 miles of the finest driftwood on the planet). Lake Rodman is a man made lake. The ancient forests were preserved 50 feet down in high acid peat. When the filled the lake the ancient forests floated to the top. So not really driftwood but bacteria modified wood. Coral and others on Lucite Did a lot of coffee tables, glass tops easy to find at used office furniture outlets Sail your heterosexual decorating flag captbob. Thumbs up

Just curious, why is this photo taken at a storage facility ? Thought maybe you kept a stash here. i.e. alternate man cave ?

Just curious, why is this photo taken at a storage facility ? Thought maybe you kept a stash here. i.e. alternate man cave ? The photo at the storage site is stolen from the craigslist ad and where I met the guy that I bought it from. He had it for pulling his bulldog around in. I was hesitant to tell him that bulldogs have legs, and could probably use the exercise. yup... this is the sort of thing I'm looking for for my tv stand. Maybe not quite that raw looking, but along those lines. Have found a store down in Sarasota that makes and sells such things. Not been there yet. Items probably have ridiculous prices from all the yuppies that are into that shabby chic stuff. Looks like we have a rather impressive hurricane headed our way. Irma has 175 mph winds now! Wife Unit on the edge of stupid mode. That means a lot of work for me. Damn thing is still a week away and they can't accurately predict a path that far out. Local news isn't helping me any by going for the drama, death & destruction angle. Wal*Mart is out of water OMG !!! *sigh* ETA: I really like some of your creations above. Amazing what people will pay nowadays for what used to be hauled away for scrap. Don't think you're a flamer for creating the products the yuppies will pay stupid amounts for. That's just smart business!

I know Scott, but I prefer to discuss wenches rather than wrenches.
Yeah Irma ... Just went and filled all empty gas cans with ethanol free gas. Station already had waiting line. It's a freakin' week away!
Guess I'll put the hurricane drill in motion. Not ready to put up hurricane shutters, but there are a LOT of steps om my list.
damn damn damn
'least it won't hang around for a week like Harvey did to Texas.
Harvey has folks scared.
