So here it goes i asked about it i ordered it i did it simple enough i guess for an Accidentalrockhound.here is my first attempt. View Attachmentthought it came out good until i came back on here and looked at some of the others here. Think about how a small stone would fit lower right. Make it happen and then maybe redarken it with liver of sulfur. That is a wicked cool organic shape.

When you say you are Silversmithing on a dime store budget I think of the native American Indian. I have seen some of them living on the street making jewelry with all their tools in a small tool box. Hammer, saw, file, pliers, home made stamps and propane torch. They get it done pretty cheaply. Doesn't hurt they been doing it forever though. Tools won't make the artist. Vision, ingenuity, perseverance is way more important. Just my opinion. Now that said I am a tool junkie and have bought tools just because I thought I needed them and turns out in many cases I didn't.

That looks very similar to something I just saw at a local art gallery. Add a stone and good to go. BTW, the piece was priced at over $100.00!
