Curious, why is it glued to a stick ? Well I'm assuming it's for cutting purposes clamping it in the vice and being able to cut the whole thing - *but* the stick is not soaked in oil so he must have glued it and never got back to cutting it.

The guy we bought that material from later learned he had been using a made up name. GIA told him that material is a rock dominated by a mineral lawsonite. So the marketing changed. Not clear whether you are talking about my material or Tommy's. I remember back when you were going around and around with the seller/miner of this material. Your material. He had to change gears as it wasn't glaucophane. He was guessing so to have an alliterative trade name "gem glaucophane". GIA said "rock with main component of lawsonite"

Than jade for that matter... And with all the problems I don't see how he can still sell it.

So that's where the "Blue G" name came from. I always thought it meant blue granite That shit is way harder and tougher than granite. Than jade for that matter... And with all the problems I don't see how he can still sell it. What problems? I have had none, especially working it, because it cuts and works as easy as jade. I have not tried to polish any since I learned the dry technique for jade so it may polish way better than what I was getting before. If you are talking about the wrong name you have to know that this is number three billion and one time that something has been named wrong. Either name works for me because it is some pretty stone that can be turned into some beautiful rings. I have had no problems with the man and he did me right as rain as far as I am concerned. Jim

Jim The problems are undercutting, heat related cracking and poor colors. Names are meaningless.
