Seems you have plans for it already, Tommy. Can't wait to see you work your magic! I was just trying to be funny. First thing I always do before I work on a slab is torque it in every direction trying to break it. I'd rather it break along natural fractures than to come apart when I start grinding on it.

When I was at that Lapidary Club, one of the guys there said the same thing. Actually he said he dropped them to see if they'd break. I get it, nothing worse than starting a project and having it break before you can finish.

When trying wire wrapping, I often wanted to break it all WHILE in the middle of the project. Throwing it against the wall will tell you if it's sturdy. Much respect for those that can do it and do it well. Wire wrapping, that is. I can throw things with the best of them.

The only thing worse than that would be not trying at all, including wire wrapping.... Garage Rocker

I get it, nothing worse than starting a project and having it break before you can finish. I used to drop them - until I got got in trouble enough times for scattering sharp pieces of rock around the garage for Eva to step on and Charley to eat - yes my dog eats rocks. Also, dropping can create fractures where there weren't any before. Now I just give them a firm slap on the arse against my work bench to start the show - or clamp in the vice and torque on them.

I've messaged Mr. Don ( jakesrocks) about the slabs, haven't heard from him in a while. Hope to get the rocks rolling soon!

Thanks for your patience everyone! ~Cody jakesrocks last two posts were kinda interesting . . . >>> Box of slabs is packed and ready to ship tomorrow. Not a sure thing on shipping. It looks like we may have a snow storm coming in. It will depend on how bad our gravel roads are tomorrow. If it ships, I'll send the tracking number. >>> Well, here it comes. Mixture of rain and snow right now. We'll see what the morning brings.

Wooferhound Yep, but the day after those posts was the last day he was online, November 3rd. I know Mr. Don has (I think Lymphatic) cancer, so it's possible that he became sick and is in the hospital. I don't know, just hoping for the best. I was considering holding the box until January anyways, as it could be a stressful thing to handle during the holidays... That and shipping during the holidays is even worse than normal. (I'll add a relevant gif later, I have to make it)

Appreciate your plans. No one wants that precious box to be a victim of Holiday mail disappearance. If needed I can send you a few slabettes and some tumble material from WI. Just let me know.
