I noticed one of the local car performance shops sells a grit blaster and also silicon carbide grit in 10Kg pails reasonably cheap, it looks about 40 grit. It might be worth having a look in your petrol head shops.

I alaways wondered about using the abrasive ceramic media SiC impregnated ceramic media will tear up most vibe hoppers. It is redundant for a vibe anyway, vibes are for finishing. and does not last long in the rotary. The SiC particles sticking out of the ceramic get rounded off quick. Agates just too hard. still using your bulk siC and like it much. Already used more than half of it. Still adding it at double dose rates. Fast friggin grind rates. Thinking about going over to Alabama and see if I can get less than 2000 pounds. But at least 800 pounds for my needs.
