I have necklaces, earrings, pendants and bracelets. Some modern, some traditional Southwest style. Specialize in traditional Navajo strung jewelry and convertible lanyards/badge holders with a break away feature if your ID badge gets caught on something. Most items are custom made, but do have some examples on my facebook page and a few listed on my Scotts Marketplace store page. Many items are made with new, old stock materials from Arizona in the 1980's. Others are made from vintage "pieces and parts" I purchase from Ebay, local yard sales and thrift stores. Last resort is purchasing new materials harvested from "unknown sources". The main stone on the front is a drilled tumbled rhodonite that I got at the show in Flagstaff this past summer. I also got a few other stones but haven't used them for the pouches yet.

One was a purse with a turtle shell. Have you seen those? I got my daughter one. I wonder if she still has it? She used to use it a lot.

drocknut I love the pouch. Have you considered making a smaller version for use as a tobacco pouch? Tobacco for ceremonial purposes or gifts for elders?

drocknut I love the pouch. Have you considered making a smaller version for use as a tobacco pouch? Tobacco for ceremonial purposes or gifts for elders? I do make smaller pouches and have sold a few at Quartzsite through a friend's booth and orrum sold a few of them in NC for me. I was planning on making a few more to take with me to Quartzsite. I thought about making even smaller ones too but just haven't done it yet.

drocknut, I keep looking at that pendant you posted. I have never seen plasma agate with red in it. Cinnabar? The stone looks like Apache Chrysocolla- if it is it would be worth much more than plasma agate. Beautiful stone and nice simple wrap.

It is less common but I got a lot of plasma agate with the red in it some better than others. I was told that it wasn't worth more than regular Plasma Agate which is why I priced the pendant like it did. I've had a few people say that they wouldn't buy plasma with red in it because it is toxic (I didn't try to explain to them that it is not dangerous wearing as a pendant because you know how that works out..lol).

I received a lovely point in the mail yesterday from mjflinty. I like it because it is an unusual shape. I think once I am finished with it- it will look like an arrowhead heart. It's very well made in quartz, shipped fast and securely. Thanks!

rockjunquie Here's a slab of some Plasma that I had cut, for your pleasure...lol. Oh yeah! That's drool worthy! Just be safe with it, OK? I was just going to message you when you tagged me. Where do you sell your bags? I want to get up with you about a custom bag for scrabble tiles. Mine velvet one is worn out. I'll get with you about dimensions, etc after the holidays. Feel free to remind me- I have an awful memory.

I used to sell them on Etsy but they didn't sell well so I took them off. I've been thinking about putting them back up on there or maybe putting them on Facebook to sell. That probably won't happen until after the first of the year. I have an awful memory too but will try to remember to remind you to remember...lol.

Just for a bit of further clarifying - there are two types of plasma agate found at Clear Creek. The piece Diane has is from up on the ridge at the (mercury) mine and it has a lot of cinnabar - bright red streaks and spots. The other plasma agate is found a few miles and two ridges away down in Clear Creek itself. I've collected and cut quite a bit of it and I've never seen any red in it at all. Doesn't mean it's not possible for it to contain cinnabar, it just means I've not seen it. The creek material is very fibrous and apparently loaded with asbestos. It's ventilator worthy material no matter what way you slice it. A piece of the creek material I found:

Thank you for the information Tommy. I didn't know there were two types of Plasma Agate. Yes, I got mine from the ridge above where the mine was located. I also got a few pieces in the creek but not as many from there since it didn't look as good as the stuff from the mine area. I also didn't know it has asbestos in it. Good to know. The stuff I got from the creek was fibrous but also had some light blue coloring in it. Cool cab Tommy.
