Line the inside with some kinda foam and it would make a nice drink holder.
All sorts of uses for that!
Does it smell when it melts?

The 100k machines just bring the faced pipe to the heater plate, not keep a steady pressure on it. The pressure is maintained during the fusion process. It appears to me that you had hired me to do that one. I tend to agree with Walt, except any method you have at your disposal would work. Personally, considering its a free scrap, I would put it in a prominent place as a reminder what not to do.

I would put it in a prominent place as a reminder what not to do. I have had a spent shotgun shell on my desk for exactly that same reason. Smile every time I see it. Long story... cost me a couple hundred bucks, but a good lesson learned.

I believe polyethylene releases mostly water vapor at melt. If you take it higher it burns like wax unless the flame gets large and the temperature increases a lot. It will support a slow flame, large fast flame if mixed with wick materials like sticks and wood.

Even the blue print on those fat melt beads is still intact. Make you wonder if you could cast a slab of it.

Let's see... forgot to turn the burner off, ok let's say you didn't catch it in time, and the HDPE starts spilling out of the pan and into the fire. Your kitchen laboratory days could have come to a premature end!!

captbob HankRocksI did buy her a new fry pan. And it is amazing. Eggs and cheese DO NOT stick to it. Not sure about plastic. When she's not at home perhaps ? I do suggest this pan. But it will scratch easy so use wood or plastic spatula. Cooked cheese eggs in it twice and used zero butter/oil. They slid off the pan. Must say they were delicious w/out the greasy crap. No idea of longevity.

Cooked on Worcestershire was a bit stickier than anything else so far. Still not bad. It scratches easily though. Not sure why they claim it would take blender blades. Not. Great idea the Fire extinguisher. Wondering if the insurance would renew everything in case things go south, hmmm.
