well they completely cleaned out my front flower beds literally to the dirt and found 4 snakes (one being a water moccasin whose head kept snapping even without his body) and the # of wasps that came out sent me packing right indoors so i wrapped to ease that tension. i do not like the green wire but i am running out of wire, walmart is out of anything useable for wrapping and what i have ordered is not yet here. kim

Looking good rocky. Did you get the wire wrap tool kit that you posted about before. And how about the wire. I like the square wire, don't have any yet but like the look after twisting it. Just waiting to get some more finished stones.

yes i got the wire wrap tool kit and have some 22 gauge soft wire on the way, round and square. now john here's a snake story: we had not yet moved in and were here just checking out the property. we were in the wide open and i was BIG pregnant. i thought i felt a butterfly or something on my toe and kind of wiggled my toe a couple of times but it was still there. i looked down and a big black snake was lying across both of my feet. needless to say, i did the screaming and kicking thing and then i heard "toot, toot" and turned around to see my husband sitting in the truck with it cranked honking the horn saying "i don't like snakes". the man had left me out there to 'fend for myself! kim

Hey Kim, don't worry, Black snakes are your best friend. You mentioned moccasins, so it's likely you have copperheads as well (also poisonous), and the Black snakes will keep the copperheads away. The Blacks can get pretty large and look a little scary, but they make it safe to go into the chicken coop!

a dead snake is a good snake ;D except garter snakes and chicken snakes.
in some of the pictures i've looked at online people used a twisted wire - do they do this themselves? if so how?

It is SO simple... Let me see if I can explain it without pictures. First off I use a pin vise this tool consists of a handle with a collett(gripping device), on either one end or on both ends. To start twisting the wires on your piece.... insert the ends of one of your wires in the jaws of the pin vice and tighten the jaws. Hold the pin vice by hand and turn it. Depending on how much you want that could be from 15 to 100 times... depends on the length. That's it! So simple. I prefer a pin vice with double ends but lots of people use the single end gripping device.
Hope this helps!

Great job on the wrappings you are really starting to show freedom in wrapping.
Prewarning, you will notice that your electrical charge will go up and will not only shock other people but you will aslo shock yourself alot. That is what has been happening to me. I think part of mine is my natural aura is highly charged. Meaning I kill watch batteries within 3 days to a week.

I had some heart and cross charms that I sold the whole lot of 24, and I sold one of the necklaces that I haven't posted a picture for you all to see. A lot of people oohhed and aaahhed over my rocks and looked at them, but no body bought any. However, what I sold still wasn't bad considering there were only 40 people there. I imagine I would do better if I was at a larger gathering.
After subtracting my site fee, something I bought and lunch today I still made $51.00. I am happy with that.
The necklace I did show you all made of Japanese Chainmail won me Personal Best in the Arts and Science competition.

Tami, congrats on the award! That chainmail is a beautiful piece of work.
You craftshow sounds like the ones we have had here at the RV park. We've had craftspeople with some beautiful stuff, but I bet not more than 50 or 60 people attended. It was really disappointiing. I was happy though - I made homemade doggie treats and sold all but one bag before noon. Definitely the best seller. Max hated that I sold them all. He was hoping I would bring a few bags back home for him.

I have made homemade doggie treats. My dog loved the peanut butter ones. I don't know if you have it or not but my sister a couple of years ago bought me the book for dog cookies, it came with a bone shaped cookie cutter.

I found a bunch of recipes on the Net I made peanut butter and oatmeal, liver and oatmeal (won't do that again, the smell of them baking almost made me sick!), and mixed veggie. There are lots of dogs around here and they were my taste testers. LOL.
I didn't have a cookie cutter when I made them, but a couple that are regulars here at the RV park brought me one they found on their way here. That was really nice of them.
We have a city wide garage sale coming up on April 17th and I have been thinking I will make some for that. I can wrap stones while they bake. The wrapped stones may not sell, but I know the doggie cookies will! LOL!
