Prayers and good thought sent Linda's way. I will miss Don here very much as will many others.

Sea Fever BY JOHN MASEFIELD
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by; And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking, And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking. I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied; And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying. I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover, And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.

I won't lie. This news has brought a tear to my eye. Don was very special to me. I'm so glad that he is no longer suffering. Praise God. Yes, please pass our condolences onto Linda. Very sad, indeed. RTH has lost a valuable asset in Don's helpfulness, encouragement and camaraderie.

Damn. Rest easy sir.
We knew it was coming but it doesn't make it any less shocking to hear.

Very sorry to hear this. As Tommy said, we knew he was fighting a losing battle, but it's still sad. Condolences to the family.

When it came to helping others(like me) find and work with rocks Don was a hell of a nice guy. His passing is a sadness to me.

Thoughts and prayers to his family. I believe that Don is at peace, but it doesn't make the news any easier to hear.

Charlies
Many years we talked
Of hounding,mineral
And rocks.....
Listened to your stories
Of your time in the Navy
And "Nam"...
The hounding trails
You walked
The people you have met
I will remember
The stories of them all....
Your collections
Of thumbnail minerals
You had to show
Some so rare
Nope,not for sale....
The collections of
Your wife's (Linda)
Sewing machines,you said
We knew you loved her
As you would buy her
Another for Linda's collection too....
South Dakota
Is where, you where at
I know,because that's where
You hung your hat
The many memories
You shared of that ......
We called each other names
But with respect
That's what Brothers do
With no regrets
So you old Goat....
Your life was good
Your memories are ours now...
Also a person
Who brought,your happiness
The Brother you never had
Bob was his name
He brought you joy
Laughter and happiness
To your life
Your memories
Will be with him
Forever too....
Rest in peace
Brother
The pain is gone
The suffering too
Brothers for life
We salute you........
