I did some wrapping last weekend. I, also did something I rarely do-- I cut the wrong wire on a piece. I saved it, though- which is a good thing because it was on the bail. I was 99.9% finished! pietersite cobalto calcite sonora sunrise sugilte

All are great. Unbelievable color on that cobalto calcite. I think I like the sonora best. Perfect capture on that one and interesting bail with the twist in the middle.

They are all beautiful but THAT PINK...WOW!!! Cobalto calcite is amazing stuff. I have some in my stash, so I figured I could let this one go. I hate to let them go, though. Same with maw sit sit, the color is so intense- green in that case, but intense.

I don't know if I could let it go It's strange, but the material is very variable. I have some in a case and they are each different. The crystal size can be different, the tint, the brightness... I have one which is just amazing in that it has a big dot of malachite druzy, too. This one is really top notch and practically glows. I have some earring stones to match and considered a set, but I want to keep those - maybe for my grandaughter when she heads off to college soon.

The Pietersite looks like a fire storm-that one may actual be my favorite I wish I had taken a picture of the little cut off that came from. I almost tossed it. All the edges were pitted and muddy. Just terrible. But when I got to actually cutting it, I found a good size cab in the middle. It almost made the trash can. Just goes to show, you never know what lurks in the heart of a stone.

They dig it out of the ground like that. It's 100% natural color druzy. Comes from Africa. I didn't cut it someone else did. I just bought it. I have a guy who gets lots of cool things that I could never get the rough for. He gives me good rates. I did "cab" a piece once, though. All you have to do is do the outside edge shape and polish it, the rest is as you see it. The bottom is calcite, I believe.

Love 'em! Having a hard time choosing between the Pietersite and the Sugilite as my favorite. Favorite stone probably the Pietersite, but I adore that Sugilite wrap.

Beautiful pendants Tela! Stunning colors on all of them. Where is the pietersite from... With the reds and oranges, is that from China? I like the balance of design to the wrapping of the Sonora Sunrise and the Sugilte.

The rest of the slab did look African, but this looks Chinese to me.

The pietersite is amazing, really like the bail on that one. My favorite is the Sonora though, the way you wrapped to set off the stone pattern is nice.
