I really like that yellow triangle one in the second photo (left). That one seems really unique.

I like the variety in the smalls! Gotta say Bill, the smalls are a variety pack. Would make great sample packs for marketing each variety. Picking them out of the media ? Lots of work. And they just don't do well without a mix of sizes. 1 pound 4 ounces in a 3.5 pound run. About 1/3. Darn glass is working my ass off.

OH MY!!! Great job and the pictures are better!! Cannot pick any favorites-I like them all I think you admired the pastels and the red dots. I know for a fact you will not like the confetti. If I see another like it I may pay full price for it. Damn I can kick myself. My cousin has him a new Murano addict gfriend. However she has a blood attitude and wants Murano tumbles. She visited Murano on numerous occasions. I find it odd that she would want them smashed and turned jewels but some people think that way. People vary so much.

Dave Dave, I have years of failures tumbling glass and obsidian. 1000's of experiment posts in past. Maybe before you joined. Tumbling fancy glass was the motivating reason for getting into tumbling 8 years ago. Finally coming to fruition and I'm on cloud 9. Thanks for the words friend. Thank Apple for them iPad cameras. They make all easy.

The pastels appeal to my feminine side, the red and black to my darker side. Green is my favorite color but dang I really like blue and purple too. The brown/gold black ones remind me of a Tigers coat-see my dilemma?? I like them all I'll never be able to understand destroying art-its like taking a Picasso or Van Gogh and painting over them. But, to each their own.....

LOL. Color effects on a lady's mind set. No need to destroy fine art, total waste. Gettin braver with the kiln. Man that thing works that glass fine. It fires me up to know that I am able to make my own w/intention of breaking it the way I want. Like a start to finish creation w/my John Henry on it. Finally a medium that allows some personal artistic creation instead of fabrication type creativity.

I want to work with people mixing glass making the colors with the raw materials like you did James. The Italians had formulas passed down for generations by certain families. The glass artists would buy the coloring agents from them.

jamesp, love the work you are doing. I don't know how far back I'd have to go to see the background, but it's great stuff nonetheless. I saw that you mentioned you have a kiln to help what your working with. Don't be a Fawn Liebowitz. Best regards, Dave

Both the studios I have been getting glass from also weld sculptures too. The hybrid glass and steel projects are awesome. They also weld up their own kilns. Every time I go to their studios the owner/artist is never blowing glass, only the young hands. it seems he has trained them in his own likeness. Janke asked if I had a large steel tube to make a bigger kiln. Hope to find an old compressor tank for him. I'd like to be a helper when building the kiln. They do have classes. More like parties. Those folks have a good time.

Maybe a video of a fictional explosion ? No need to look back, let's just say there was a lot of wrong paths taken. Trial by fire ? haha - no pun

Fun to choose favorites. 1- red with clear and black 2-green and clear What a delicious salad! Thanks! This afternoon I sat with the Asian lady that imports fine vases and plates. She reminds me of my Mom. She may be in her mid 70's. She and her husband own the business. She explained how they used to sell a lot of fine China made blown glass vases and plates to people her age and older for many years. But in recent times the younger generation hardly buys it anymore. Also stopped by an antique shop loaded with glass from the 40's to the 70's. Her prices seemed low. She gave the same story that prices have been dropping since the younger generation is not buying it. So the thrift stores and flea markets are also filling up with this fine glass since the younger generation is getting rid of it after inheriting. So the market is real good. The ones you mentioned are newly made Italian glass.
