Hey Kim, those look great! You are doing very well with the mixed loads. There are plenty of extra problems that come with running such varied loads, but you seemed to have them well in hand. It just never ceases to amaze me what "ordinary" rock really looks like! Ron

I would have never thought those rocks were just ordinary driveway gravel had you not "told". They are so pretty! I really like the pinkish one in the top right of the second pic and the two in the middle of the last pic. Heck, I really like them all! Next time I need rocks, I might just order a few pounds of driveway gravel from you!

What people just roll over with thier car with no idea...! Kim, what is the average size of the gravel before and after tumbling? Seems like you could get some great gift ideas for these ;D

Very impressive. I can't belive that is driveway gravel! You must have one hell of a pretty driveway. What was you recipe? Did you use that SISA?

believe me my driveway is almost as unattractive as that dang fencing around the pastures- thank goodness the property is beautiful and distracts you from looking at those things - unless i get behind on mowing which is real easy to do - it's a never ending battle that is as big an obsession with me as the rocks. i need a tractor! but i do not want to pay for one . i used the 1000 a.o. as a 4th step then the titanium with karo corn syrup in it. i haven't tried the sisa yet. oh and i skipped the burnishing phase this time and hand washed them in dawn complete. kim

Hey Kim, I have several large gravel pits in my area. The glacial ground around me is full of rock, but in places where the glacial outwash ran, the rocks became very densely packed as the dirt washed out of the area. Those areas are now huge gravel pits. When you order gravel or rock for your driveway here, that is where it comes from. It will be full of Jasper, Agate, Petrified Wood, Quartz and all manner of neat rock. If you order 10A rock it comes all washed and ready to go!

ron - if you order gravel here you can get what they call a grey slag i think or washed gravel. i'm sure either must be trucked in from somewhere else because we don't have any rocks in mississippi. the guy that sells the gravel thinks its funny that i tumble mine. my husband told him he better keep an eye on his piles ;D.

That is sooo cool! I was out in the alley picking up a few pieces today .... couldn't get to the gravel pit. LOL Hope mine turn out that nice, but no fair putting jelly beans in. I see that one in the second pic. Nice orange jelly bean. [glow=red,2,300]Cher[/glow]

Kim, Those are beautiful!!! I have a mixed load of pet. wood, picture rock, some of that dang purple agate that I've been tumbling since April, and some other stuff that is due out of polish tomorrow. If mine turn out just HALF as gorgeous as your driveway gravel, I will be a happy, happy girl!
Great job! What are you planning to do with them?

[glow=red,2,300]ROFL[/glow] Those do look like jelly beans. I can't believe how pretty driveway rocks turn out. I'm off to the cities tomorrow, hoping I get a chance to go looking for awhile. Otter, thanks for the link to that thread. [glow=red,2,300]Cher[/glow]

That really is some impressive gravel, and very nicely tumbled too! I hope you at least have to spend some time picking through the gravel to get stuff like that, and don't just go out and randomly scoop up a shovelfull, 'cause then I'd really be jealous!
