Must give most credits to the glass blower, most of the killerest colors/patterns came from him. Certainly the complicated ones. I did figure a way to fuse protective clear glass to his shards so that his work would be preserved by the tumbling operation. I did the confetti(vomit). Maybe a third of the other color layouts. The recent stuff has flat backs. Most have two personalities on each side. Thanks for the kind words. It is slow season and have been able to dedicate a lot of time to all this. Estimating pendant inventory at 10,000 units in process. Maybe 2000 complete. The scrap glass that is designed for fusing was the jump start that got this going. The scrap was a gift but he wanted it gone. I have paid him cash. Given his employees fire pits. Basically kissed his butt in thanks for all the glass. 18 pounds in right 3 pots ready for vibe. Might be about 2500 units.

I think you have perfected this glass tumbling business! Eye candy for sure. Suitable for framing!

Elizabeth says you can do stuff with that. I do too, my head is full of possibilities.

jamesp those are scrumpdiddilyumptious! Especially the green ones with the little dots in them and the purple ones! The green ones were the outcome of shaving into the frit that the blower applied. Those dots were completely covered with a thin layer of opaque black before tumbling.

There are many sources for the glass. To list a few
sawn from melted bricks vases and plates either melted or straight tumbled melted shards melted pieces of sawn slabs melted pieces of tumbled glass laminated shards and then melted shards with color chunks added and then melted fuse polishable glass melt laminated over any COE 96 glass form to get a flame polish pre-ground shapes melted and possibly ground again and re-melted melting glass into 1/4 inch thick large plates and then sawn into pendant size pieces remelted plates with color additions added and then sawn into pendant sizes
There is yet more. Clear, white and black plate glass is often the canvas and pieces of colored glass is the paint. Screens of various meshes are used to grade colored glass into various sizes for features when melting. Colored chunk glass is heated in a convection oven to 600F and then chunked in ice water to assist crushing the colored glass, then screened from salt size to 1/4 inch. Thermal shocked glass has a different effect than non-shocked crushed glass. The crushed glass is stored in small clear jars for visibility.
There is so many tricks in working with glass, never ends. The lapidary side known as 'cold working' in the glass trade is paramount to this glass in the photos. Tumbling and melting are by far the dominate final shaping methods.
I have made an offer on a true glass kiln on Craig's list. It is quite a bit larger than my little brick kiln. It should make production much easier. Better quality. More variety of process.
