Nuts! One step forward 1.5 back. I say 1.5 because you have been very precise on everything and figuring things out as you go. Minor setback.

Looking at glass at 7 and 17 hours using vibe formula and all is looking well in the Lot-O fernwood. Today is Sunday, started 3 PM yesterday. Finish seems a bit behind other vibe and no problem. No rush. Will know more in a day.

Sean at The Rock Shed is vera helpful and knows his lapidary!!! My formula seems right on or slightly behind schedule Bill. Lot-O is a smooth quiet sweet running machine. Finally, a tumbler 100 feet from house. It has a slightly slower action with the thick slurry than the modified Vibrasonic. Understandably, the Vibrasonic has a monster 1/3 HP motor. No complaints here, Lot-O uses 1/6 the electricity. Very impressive $200 machine. Sean fixed me up with new counter balance fan assemblies, had me send the originals back for analysis. Got a chuckle out of me getting knocked cross eyed by the counter weight slinging off. (it bounced off my forehead) Lot-O may end up being dedicated to early stage and Vibrasonic dedicated to polish stage. That would make a dedicated polish machine in the Vibrasonic reducing chance of abrasive contamination and such careful cleaning. If going into production I need 2 more Lot-O's to equal polish rate of Vibrasonic since it polishes quick. The glass is all about vibes and very little rough shaping in rotary.

Welcome to the Lot-O club, Jim! Are you going to try some rocks in it or are you doing glass only?

I'll be faithfully following your "glass in a Lot-o" posts. I have some glass and obsidian course-grinding in rotaries that will be ready for the Lot-o within a few weeks.

Welcome to the Lot-O club, Jim! Are you going to try some rocks in it or are you doing glass only? For now all glass Rob. It really has a nice action. I will toss some obsidian in with the glass though. Maybe some other soft rocks. Glad to be in the Lot-O club. It sure is quiet.

Glad to be in the Lot-O club. It sure is quiet. Yep. Mine sits close to my rotaries. I need to stand directly over it to hear it over them.

I finally moved the vibes away from the rotaries just to avoid abrasive contamination. The Lot-O is close to the house and a pleasure to check on since it is close. It purrs like a kitten. Sitting next to it is a bucket of glass cabs tumbled to 500, plenty of work waiting on it.

I can't wait to get a Lot-O. I have to wait until the wife has something she wants as well so I can justify the purchase lol =)
