And I finally made an account! I've learned so much from this forum, thank you you guys for all the knowledge and inspiration!
I tumble using a UV18 and rockhound southern California. If there are groups that go out around here let me know, not many of my peers appreciate this hobby. I make jewelry as well, but I'm pretty self conscious about it.

For me, owning our hobby is all about context - I never told any of my friends about it ("What did you do on your day off?" "Oh, I went out looking for rocks"). But if I left a couple of polished stones out laying around someone always picked them up & admired them. It was easy to then say that I'd found and tumbled them. Welcome from Kansas!
