hi, all! too many bees outside to take artsy-fartsy pics, but here is my latest batch, some crazy lace and assorted mixed agate, some mixed jasper (ghost birds are barely recognizable), some pet wood, a few straggling pieces of sodalite, one piece of tiger eye i got in a mixed bag and a few things i have no clue, this was with the Tin Oxide polish, but no wet shine was acheived.....not half bad tho. good enough for the jewelry i make. some of this i cut on the saw... i started a PURE batch of Tiger Eye that i got from Redwoodrocks today, check back in a few monthes..haha...meanwhile, here is Fred: thanks for looking! I think they look great!! There are some wonderful jewelery pieces there too! I see a lot of potential in that batch. It looks like you are being very selective. I don't see a loser in the bunch! Great work KD! I'd like to see a few pieces you make from these. Thanks for sharing

no, sandsman, that is some sort of picture jasper, i couldn't get that Utah wonderstone to take a shine to save my life. nor the stichtite. i didn't even bother to post that batch. i tumbled that in Aluminium Ox with zippo results then tried the Tin Ox, which shined the few pieces of pet wood enough for me to make some jewelry pins with. it shined SOME of the Stichtite on some surfaces.....i am going to try and order some Titainium Diox and some Chrome stuff, see if i can't make those suckers shine.
thanks, KD

I LOVE that, KD! In my mind, I'm matching up pendants to earrings, looking for the best place to mount the bell cap, does it need a bezel(?). What kind of jewlery do you do? I'm a sucker for crazy lace, and that piece on the bottom right makes my mouth water. Gotta love Fred! ;D

Hey KD,
That group looks great to me as well.
I am fixin to try a batch of mixed stones in my 10# Gy-Roc tumbler. I cleaned my 10" and 14" saw and came up with a bunch of trimmed pieces and my coffee cams are brim full and I am needing to do something with them ... so, I am going to try a big batch.
Wish me luck! I'll be happy if my stones turn out as nice as yours!
Enjoy,
John

Very very nice! ..... I can't stand this, I want to get tumbling!!! LOL I know, I need to learn patience. I have plenty, just need to hear a tumbler humming in the basement. At least I'd know it was on it's way.

Hey KD. Those look really nice. If you want a better shine, put them back in polish and add a little Borax in with the polish. It has been working for me. I took some stones that had a so-so shine and put them in the polish/Borax for just 2 days, and they came out with that wet look.

That's a really good batch of stones, very nice. Interesting to me that you put sodalite (soft) in with all that harder stuff, and it looks like the sodalite might have come out the brightest, instead of getting all beat up. Was there a trick to that?

I am so pleased to meet Fred.
What a nice character. You should teach him to sing , he does have a lovely smile. I eben like his hairdo and his beard.
You realy are onto something here.
Good luck with the jewelry making , with Freds help it should be a breeze.

thank you all for such bolstering comments, makes me feel so proud!
Stoner, i do use borax in with the polish and this batch a burnished in just borax and water for about 6 hours.
Rollingstone, i think i've just had a real hard batch of sodalite or maybe just real good luck with it. i use a lot of pellets and i think that hepls a lot with mixed batches.
Thank you all again, and now for my next trick.......

Outstanding batch of stones Krazy-D! Did you pre-form them before you tumbled them?
