The Citrine looks a bit better here. The batch also had a portion of Agate I got on the trip up to Bagdad AZ. and the Burro Creek area. This is a little closer to what I was looking for, but I only got a few pieces. I had a handful of Emerald Rough I threw in and just let it ride along with the agates. A buddy from work gave me a chunk of Black and White Striped Onyx found near Mayer, Arizona. Then I usually have a bunch of uncatagorized stuff that has lost its place of origin, or source, but needed polishing anyway. And as far as my faceting, I finished an Apache Tear, but wanted to do a bit more work on. and after falling of the dop stick three times, I thought I might just keep this one simple. And I am still wire wrapping. Meanwhile I have a Lap and grinder set up I am trying to get running to keep myself busy and keep my mind from focusing too long on the loss of my wife 2 weeks ago, because that just saps all my energy. But by the grace of God, I continue in His strength. Thanks for looking!

I am so very very sorry to hear of your loss Banjo. God Bless you and yours during this difficult time.
Those stones are amazing and that teardrop is just stunning in the silver setting. Beautiful work you do. I have a question about your wire wrapping ... did you twist your own wire? That's really a nice job, I'm very impressed.

The Tear is in a premade setting with a chunk of pyrite as a background. The color is all washed out. It should be more yellow. The wire is twisted by myself. It is 20 ga. square HH. It is not all that even if you look close, so...don't look close ;D

Banjo, I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. I know this must be a really difficult time for you. Know that we all are holding your close in our thoughts and prayers. Cool rocks! Looks like you are getting the hang of the faceting - that's really pretty. And your wirewrap is definitely neat looking. I really like that! I'm trying to get my new grinder set up too. Had to build a table for it, an electrical cord on the motor (took that to my friendly Ace hardware store man for help and they ended up doing it for me), got belts and everything ordered and they should be here about Wednesday. By then, I should have the table top cut and finished and be ready to go. Once I learn how to use the grinder, I may never come out of my grinding closet! llana

Banjo, I did a little citrine a while back, and one piece came out with a rainbow coloration in it. Have you ever seen that?

Incredible stones, Banjo! Must be something weird with my computer cuz I only got your first few pics, then just X's after that. Wish I could see the rest!
I am so sorry for your loss. All of the things that I could say would probably just sound like platitudes, except that we're all here for you if you want to 'talk'.
You and yours will be in my prayers.

The stone in the wirewrap is an Apache Tear. Believe it or not, this repying and posting really seems like a lot of work. I guess everything does, at this point. So I'll just keep on working, and stay busy or else I may fall into feeling sorry for myself. Thanks all! "When a wife loses her husband she feels abandoned; when a man losses his wife he feels dismembered." source unknown Funny how different we are.

Ya, I think you nailed the citrine pics this time around, great job, not only on the citrine, but everything! That faceted stone is really neat -- I had no idea that apache tears were so transparent.
Sorry to hear of your loss. Keep your mind busy, and give things some time to heal a bit.

Needless to say, these are breathtaking. Your emeralds are really beautiful. I'm the one who has been hung up on polishing emeralds and rubies for the last year or so. Your emeralds get numerous stars and forks and smiles or whatever on my rating scale! Great job!
Having said that, may I join with others in saying that I'm so sorry about your loss. I can't even imagine the pain you must be enduring and I'm glad if your connection with the rocks helps you get through this.

Those look really great.
I am saving my money for one of those hand faceters. I have $25.00 that I got from my grandfather for my birthday and I usually get $50.00 from him for Christmas, so I should be able to get it after Christmas. Tami

Banjo, I was wondering where you went. I am devastated to hear of the loss of your wife. I am fortunate not to have lost any close loved ones. Yet... I feel for and hope you make it through this very though turning point in you life. I'd like to say "nice rocks" but I feel that it would be, a little... I don't know. I can't find the right word.....
Anyway, maybe this hobby will be some sort of an escape for you. I wish you the best.

My sincerest Sympathy Banjo , I had no idea you lost your Wife. I had seen the fotos you placed and showed them to my wife a few days ago already. Today I am reading again through the postings and realised what hard times you have fallen on. I understand that feeling of loss, having seen 3 of my siblings go over the years and ofcourse my parents. But losing once wife must be even more devastating. I wish you strength and only time will heal this deep wound of yours. Your rocks and tumblers will keep you focused and help you heal.
My best to you
Jack
