Finished a few cabs this week. It's a short week so I had to bust my butt to get to my self-imposed quota of 20 for the week. We're leaving Friday morning headed up the coast for our anniversary weekend which also happens to be Labor Day weekend. Going up to Fort Bragg in Mendocino county for some R&R. It's Paul Bunyan days every Labor Day in FB and it's always fun to walk the town and every year there's a small gem and mineral show put on by the Mendocino club. Without further ado... Gary Green Orbilishish! Yin and Yang naturally... also a nice scene when turned the other way. This one is riddled with pits but I liked the pattern and pushed through to finish it. Here are a few more selfcollectedites. Burro Creek Plasma agate - Clear Creek Dragon Jasper from Dead Camel mountains. I still don't know if anyone has found my outcrop of this stuff yet. Cosmo agate from Cedar City Utah. I think zarguy told me not to pick this one up but he might have been wanting to circle around and grab it himself... gotta watch that guy. Picasso Marble also from the same Utah trip Richardsons Ranch egg Stoney Creek - more specifically Burris Creek where it meets Stoney Creek Disaster Peak picture jasper And some random stuff... Billy's Mary Ellen Sunrise or is it Sunset? Moroccan septarian #8 mine turqoise Dryhead agate Not sure what this is - could be Willow Creek or it could be Imperial? Random piece of rock that was in a box of Dallasite. We'll call it Dallasite even tho it doesn't fit the pattern. Dino bone Wildflowers rhyolite Leopardskin jasper Thanks for looking!

20 quality cabs a week must go through a whole lot of slab inventory. I do not know how you keep up. Very nice work.

I'd say Dallasite with you. Its within my impression of the stone. Yeah I meant to tag bcrockhound and see if he recognizes it. It was in a mixed box of dallasite and flowerstone he sent me a couple of years ago - unfortunately I don't know where the rest of this specific rock has gotten to. Probably buried in my rock pile. It looks and behaves like dallasite and it's really striking in hand with a smooth surface and a beautiful shine. It seems like a brecciated dallasite if there is such a thing. The flowerstone has an even more distinct pattern and didn't take quite as good of a shine in my limited experience with it.

Let's just put it this way... if I ever die suddenly and you see my stuff being sold off - don't hesitate - immediately try to buy this cabinet with contents and bring a very sturdy hand truck with you

A lot of the dallasite seems like a mix of a lot of stuff. No two rocks are the same etc. I don't really know all the parts or how to properly classify some things. I love the pieces that have that blue hue in the quartz and white/lighter coloured sections.

What wonderful, quality work. But those aren't pits.. they are birds flying through a turbulent green sky over Venusian hills. And thank you for giving me my first glance at wildflower rhyolite. Now I know what to give to my wife.

Lots of fine cabs here! My favorite is the dragon jasper. That's a nice piece of bone too. Great polish on the G-g's as well.
