Hi all, I'm just trying out the upload button for the first time. I have learned a lot just getting the cloudinary account set up. Tommy did a great tutorial - couldn't have done it without the tutorial. I just grabbed a photo from the past. I think I posted this about 3 years ago, but I believe it's ok for this test:

Thank you for your comments. However, I have to confess that it's not a cab - it's coaster-size. The edges are slightly domed so I could polish it on my wheels, so I understand why you thought it was a cab. Next time I will give the size when I post something. My other boat that I posted here about 3 months(?) ago is cab-size.

Your work is incredible! Do you still cut the leaf cabs?

Just amazing work. I've been planning to try some intarsia, but seeing a piece as incredible as this really -cough, cough- takes the wind out of my sails...

I think it is suitable for framing!
What are you going to do with it?

I think it is suitable for framing! What are you going to do with it? For now I will just use it for display purposes. Originally, I planned to make a set of coasters that shape but I stopped after 2 of them - not sure I would live long enough to make a set of 8!

Masterful job of curve-fitting! Thanks berfle! I just saw this. Yes, the curves are the hard part to do. BTW, That's a sweet cab you have for your avatar.

Garry, understand your comment, The intarsia bird I made took me a full year. How long do your coasters generally take? Oh, and BTW, love your display case work. Reminds me of the work they show of Faberge pieces at the Winter Palace in St Petersburg, Russia and your pieces are as equal if not better than what they have on display, really. How long have you been doing this work? Too many questions I know, but we are all talking to and standing in the shadow of a great artist and need to get as much in formation as we can. And now one final question, for now. In the display case there is an intarsia of a flower, do you have that readily available? I did a micro zoom of it as best I could and it looks awesome. Cheers, johnw
