OK...seems to me this thing should be named....
Purple Stargazer
I rotated it 180 degrees and it looks like a window into deep space....hence..Stargazer. Very beautiful rock indeed...some lucky person will realy get some enjoyment out of that one...

"Purple Sage"On man, Tom, I can't believe I didn't think of that name! When I was growing up my parents built a motel and it was the Purple Sage! Also, we have lots of Purple Sage bushes around here and they are some of my favorites. Little purple flowers and a wonderful smell! Oh well! Sands, I WANT that stone!! Will bribery work? llana

"gasp" She did, what a little brat! Shame on you Rosebud ... hehehehe. Sorry Herm, we was just having fun last night trying to think of all kinds of names for it. My hubby was having fun and really drooling over that stone so I had to take advantage of the fact that he was actually showing an interest in something rock related. LOL He asked me the same thing ... "do you think we can bribe him?" He totally fell in love with it so thanks Sands for giving him a small injection of rock blood. LOL Bad Rosebud PS ... Sands, meant to tell you, there's NOTHING wrong with those pics, they look terrific!!

oh, i like Plum Crazy Agate...good one, Kim!
Purple Sage is pretty cool too! i'd never seen real sage bushes until i went to Texas a few years ago (for the first time)....and i got stung in the butt posing by a cactus. i smuggled two century plants in my luggage home and they are stil alive and well.
great names, all of them! KD

Had to go look up those Century plants, never heard of them. How big are yours, are you going to try and plant the seed pods when they grow up? Those are pretty cool.

the century plants are both in a maybe 6-8" pot, if i get a chance tomorow i will send you a photo if you are interested, Cher. they are very slow growers, but amass to a large size under Texas conditions. the ones i have are a sentimental reminder of my trip to Texas.
i had a great time there visiting my auntie and uncle in Del Rio and a good few days romp solo in San Antonio...
nice part of the planet.
