BE, I'd imagine that Quick Stop store could save lives at times. Marriages, too.
Couple years ago we took off for Y'stone Park with 2 people with bad colds and sinus infections. Found that supplies of cold meds had been underestimated. It was 500 miles across Nebraska and Wyoming to find any Sudafed or generic equivalent. More "personal" type products also could not be found. Got lucky in Riverton WY when the cashier (a recent graduate of the area HS who had never been more than 20 miles from Riverton) happened to know that Contac was pseudephedrine. Who knew? Also, they had Kleenex.

Hey Puppie, Our quick stop probably has tissue (usually), but I would be totally amazed if they had Contac or an equivalent! I've been in there before when they didn't have a potato! or an onion! But they always have plenty of sodas and chips and candy. You know...the 'staples'! Oh yeah, they sell lottery tickets, too!

BE, you must not have been in there lately. They have Contact, Benadryl and a number of other cold/sinus medicines. The single serving packages - they are on the wall behind the counter. They also have potatoes, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, even jalapenos (sometimes) , quail, steaks, hamburger meat from the meat locker in Utopia. Expensive, but they got 'em!

It makes me think of the national park stores. After taking a little "tumble" in Yellowstone this summer, I ran out of gauze pads, the stores in yell didn't stock any at any of their stores -- according to mgmt. their inventory is preset and always the same -- best you could do was large bandaids, no pads, tape, etc. Having no alternatives takes some getting used to.
