Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile are two of my favorite all time movies. 'Course I'm a huge Stephen King fan since I read The Stand back in junior high. Most movies from his books are horrible, but those two are great. So I know it's not a movie but did you watch the Castle Rock series last year?

So I know it's not a movie but did you watch the Castle Rock series last year? I did not. Is it a good one? I just added the trailer above. It's fantastic It's not directly Stephen King but it's a collaboration between him and JJ Abrams *about* Stephen King characters if that makes sense. There are character correlations throughout the whole series and it adds to the experience.

mrrockpicker is partial to western movies (John Wayne, and much older), and reruns of western TV series (Gunsmoke, Maverick, Bonanza, etc.), ad nauseam. I do like a few of his favorite Eastwood westerns, especially "Two Mules for Sister Sara" featuring Eastwood and Shirley MacLaine.
A couple of my favorite lines/scenes: The set up: Hogan was shot in the upper chest by an Indian arrow. After breaking off the end of the arrow, he had Sara cut a groove in the shaft, pour gunpowder into it, and light it. Sara hit it from the end, pushing it out of his body. This after he had been drinking whiskey so as to tolerate the pain. Problem was, he was drunk when he had to shoot some explosives placed on the underside of a tall railroad trestle. They were blowing up the trestle to stop a rapidly approaching train carrying weapons. Hogan was doing the shooting, Sara was acting as a brace to steady him.
War movies (serious or farce, such as Kelly's Heroes - his favorite) are also watched. Lot of stars in that one, including Eastwood and Donald Sutherland. Woof woof!
Not a huge movie or TV fan myself, nor into binge watching. But there is one exception - I love the Seth MacFarlane (Star Trek - ish ) farce, The Orville. Just started it's second season the end of December 2018.
Favorite movie would have to be "Blazing Saddles." Too bad it is not PC now...

Can't say that I have. Will have to make an effort to watch it at least once. Thanks, James.
