Hey I visited that bin! Only got one though - one of the blue ones with the white. The guy said they were all Royal Imperial, which he confirmed by looking at the curved marks on the pink part of the pink/blue one. I was thinking Morrisonite too though. Never seen any Royal Imperial in those colors.
Quartzsite is such an amazing place.

Great find Brian! I definitely missed that bin. I picked up a couple slabs of Morrisonite in Q although mine weren’t $3 each, they were not too high. I did see some rough that the seller wanted $200 per pound for. Ummmmm, nah. I had to ship my stuff home (we had to leave Saturday morning) and they should be arriving starting tomorrow. I’ll try to take some pics this weekend.

I didn't get out of the booth much so missed the $3 slabs but glad you got some Brian. I saw that $200 per pound rough rock and thought it was a joke but that's what he wanted for it. It was Rhodonite with silver and other minerals from Montana. Not dark pink but sorta pretty...just not $200/lb pretty though. Price dropped on Sunday when he realized he couldn't fit all the rough in the truck he had and the trailer he used to get it down there went back to Montana with another guy.

Hey Brian beefjello , We will have that cold beer some time! When booking the trip, I planned a day of travel from Blythe, CA to Phoenix to Atlanta, GA. It’s a good thing I did too. Got up at 5:30 AM Saturday and landed in Atlanta about 9:00 PM...then went to eat. Drove Sunday to Destin (6 hrs) and cleaned out the tumblers. Had meetings early Monday. Whew...still catching up! Thanks to Tony and Chris, who hosted a RTH BBQ on Friday night and we had a great time. Wish we could have been there Saturday also. Jeff |
