I don't know about the rest of you, but I always have the worst time trying to get the edges even on my bezel strip to solder it. Sometimes I can spend a couple of hours fiddling and still not get it flush. Well, today I got these and I am over the moon! I immediately got a scrap piece of bezel wire and tried them out. Presto! Immediate gorgeous flush bezel edges. I think I may have died and gone to heaven!
BTW, I first learned of these from an Otto Frei email before Christmas. I procrastinated on ordering them until the next day and they were sold out! I found them on PMC Supplies and ordered them. A day later I got an email from them that they were sold out! I have waited over a month for them to be back in stock and be sent to my hot little hands. Otto Frei sold out of them AGAIN in less than 24 hours. pmcsupplies.com has them and it does not say they're sold out, but it didn't when I ordered mine either.

It seems some RTHlings could make them.

It's such a simple idea and so many people have a problem with this basic task I'm surprised no one came up with it until now. I wish I had thought of it!

My pleasure to share a new tool with fellow smiths! Especially if you get as frustrated as I do.

There is a new product called Hone and Highlight that has been released on a very small basis- presumably for test marketing and because it is a small outfit. It is a tumble medium for use on patined metal. A metal artist, Rosy Revolver, developed it. www.rosyrevolver.com/ honeandhighlight.com/products/hone-highlight-tumbling-medium ANYWAY, a friend of mine was able to procure some and sent me some to try, which I haven't done, yet. I am going to send her these snips in return, as a surprise, and then order another for myself.

THEY work fine on bezel wire; it's narrow. I also wanted to use them on wider pieces for spinner bracelets (3/4" wide). Too wide for to work.
I am going to contact the inventor and suggest he make the same think that can accommodate 1" widths.

I was disappointed after I got these and saw that they were put out by Eurotool. I try never to buy that brand as I find made in China or India to usually be inferior, however, mine do seem to cut square.

Eurotool is not my favorite, but mine are cutting square.

Have not found a way to email him. On you tube, there is a rather negative review of them. Sounded like the buyer had legitimate complaints. Good idea poorly executed.
There are several skilled tricky RTHlings. I bet they could make them better.

I was at Rio and the Swanstom rep was there. Rio was going to ask them if this is something they could improve on. They had sent back their shears and ring guage for QC issues.

Couldn’t you/I just get s lovely pair of shears and attach the table, and then the little strip that keeps the bezel in place?
Is there steel on steel glue?

It's very disappointing to hear that everyone is having so much trouble with them. Mine are not the best constructed - you can tell just by looking at them, but mine at least cut flush. Since I'm not using them for heavy duty anything, I'm not concerned about how they look - just that they work correctly. I would happily pay more for some well constructed ones.

I just sent Whaley an email asking for a pair that cuts 1" wide strips.
Thanks, Robin!

Knipix has a Mitered Trim Cutter also, but it doesn't cut metal.
Ridgid/Home Depot has a Mitered Trim Cutter. I don't know if it cuts metal. May check it out!

I see that Home Depot/Ridgid carries a Miter Trim Cutter. I might have to check that out.
