Just had to try and take a picture of this to show you guys. I just love this piece, the swirls are incredible. I ran it in AO polish for 5 days, now I'm moving it into cerium. This one already has a good shine, want to see if it improves any with the cerium. Side One ReverseI did some shaping on this one with the dremel, side one is just slightly curved. The reverse is sort like a wave, like an s curve. Just over 1/4 inch deep, about 1/2 inch wide and an inch long. I really like the way it turned out, it just feels great! Thanks for looking, Cher

That's my plan. Wish I could drill it but there's no way I would dare when I'm holding the drill by my hand. If I had the drill press set up like Ron has, then I would. Lacking that, I'm going to have a go at wrapping it, hopefully my wire will be here tomorrow.

Cher, that is a gorgeous stone! Looks alot like the red and yellow jasper I got from Banjocreek. That's gonna make a killer piece of jewelry! Can't wait to see what you do with it.

I have a couple of suggestions on how you can wrap this stone. I would suggest a two or three wire wrapping. Pictures number 5 & 6 are a two wire wrapping the other are three wire wrappings. The picture I put up wound up being small so you can got to www.photobucket.com and search for creativeminded album and you can click on the pictures and get a better look at some of my wrappings. Pictures number 5 & 6 are a two wire wrapping the other are three wire wrappings. If you find yourself not comfortable in wrapping it I am sure that any of us that do wrap would be will to wrap it for you. I personally would wrap it for you in exchange for a beautiful stone you have tumbled. Tami

Thanks Tami, I'll go take a look now.

WOW Tami, those are awesome. The little gems, what are they and how are you attaching them? Those are great added touches. I'd love to try something like that but do need to learn the basics first. Did you have any books or just mostly from looking at pics? I am totally impressed!!

Beautiful piece. You mentioned shaping with a dremel. What kind of bits dit you use and did you have to do it under water? Brenda

Hi Brenda, I have 40 grit burrs that I got on eBay that I use to do the shaping. These are pieces that I got when I whacked a bigger stone. What I did was to run them through the coarse grit for about a week so I could get an idea of what kind of shape they might be taking and also to take them down some so I wouldn't have so much to do with the dremel. Once they have started taking shape, I just play around with them taking a bit off here and there until they've reached a shape I like. I don't do it under water, but have water in a low-sided container that I dip the stone in to keep it wet. Also, I have another container, deeper that I can stick the dremel in and let it spin for a few seconds. I wrapped this piece today while our power was out before the sun went down but haven't taken a pic yet. I'll get that on here soon.

Here's one attempt at wrapping this. Dang it's hard to do on these shiny stones, they are so hard to hang on to. I don't want a lot on this as I don't want to cover up the swirls in the stone itself. I'm not sure I'm happy with this but it was entertaining and kept my mind off of the cold. There's a lot to be said or having the proper tools though and there's a few more I need to get, including the ones with the plastic covered jaws.

I had no idea, it's very pretty. I am still learning all the rocks! It really turned out nice, I love the shape of it, you did a great job.

Wow...very nice pieces, I like what you did with the shapping! And the wrapping is a wonderful touch! How hard is the wire? Is it quite difficult to shape? Guy
