Been really busy. Really missed cabbing. Been doing a lot of cutting, too.I have a bunch of new stuff to get to. But first - Here is the first of some red jasper and hematite that wigglinrocks was kind enough to send me samples of. Each one was a little different. This is the first one I have done. Inside and outside pics- kinda reminds me of dino bone. Remember that Wyoming Bonsai stone we were talking about a while ago? Well, I misplaced mine and finally found it. shink sent these. Pic outside and before it was cabbed. This is pretty big and I LOVE it! A big nearly problem free covellite- this is 20g. Inside and outside pix These tiny covellite were done from some scraps. Kinda pitty, but I had no way of knowing ahead of time. This is the part that was leftover from that big tiffany I had that broke. MUCH, much nicer in person. a mystery plume a big thin bruno another big thin one- this one is royal imperial jasper a gary green that doesn't photograph well. I sold a bunch of lots of preforms. One buyer was so happy that he sent me a really nice slab of gary green. That was really nice. A big stefoinite- another that looks better in person. copper brick. My first one. I was really surprised that it didn't take a better polish scrap of oj- pretty big, though lapis- a guy on ebay was selling big tumbled chunks for cheap with great thick bands of color- so I cut one up and did this. Kinda small, but high domed and very blue. Thant's all I got pics of. Thanks for looking!

Great cabs. I am partial to the first two. I collected lots of the Jasper and Hemetite/iron before I moved. wigglinrocks recently sent me a nice slab. He lives less than 30 miles from where I used to. The Wyoming Bonsai stone looks great. Cannot wait to work with the pieces I have. The rest are also very nice. The color on the Lapis is so pretty.

Those are all very nice, as usual. No particular faves, but that bonsai stone is pretty striking.

Hey, you managed to capture some purple flash on the covellite! Nice rescue on the Tiffany. Yep, too much color reflected from the surroundings on the stefoinite, but on the other hand, the photo shows what a great shine you got. With copper brick, you are basically trying to polish clay + copper, so not going to get a high polish on the clay fire brick parts - still a nice pattern.

The Wyoming Bonsai is amazing! Im also loving the OJ I had to cab the unsawed face so I could dop the half nodule. I was just keeping my fingers crossed that the pattern worked it's way down. It did NOT for most of the grind, but I was determined to hit pay dirt. LOL! Love the pattern and can't wait to cut some more.

Oddly, whenever I photograph covelite outside at a very low angle the flashes show up. You can't see it otherwise. But, since I know now that it is there, it should oxidize out. At least that's what I'm hoping. I have a museum grade cab put away. I didn't bag it, so it is oxidizing. It is covered with magenta- so beautiful!

Reminds me of a cross between tiffany, septarian and nature's paintbrush. It has uneven hardness. Some of it is very soft.

The bonsai is amazing. I have cut quite a few Stefoinite cabs and getting the picture to show the mirror polish is something that I haven't figured out yet.

I tho the first one was Dino bone, and the next white one the cracked Dino egg.
Covelite is beautiful. Pits donβt change that.
Thanks for the show. ππ

Yahoo! She's on a roll! The covellite is gorgeous but that stefoinite... good grief. And who captures a perfect bullseye in a Bruneau cab??

Yahoo! She's on a roll! The covellite is gorgeous but that stefoinite... good grief. And who captures a perfect bullseye in a Bruneau cab?? I have had that bruno forever. It is big (46mm), but thin. I was hesitant to capture the whole pattern in such a thin stone, but it worked out. The precab had to be a little less than 5mm. The cab is 4.62mm.

I really like the small Covellites. There is just something about having a great polish on an imperfect surface that really appeals to me. Great work on all of the rest Also!

Great batch!~ I particularly like the covellites and the Bonsai but they're all great. Wish I could score some covellite rough -- I hadn't realized how pretty it is until I saw your images.
