Finally finished it, and totally proud of it. It won't polish better unless I re-600 it and TOxide it, but its out now and I reckon its looking good in its place. Probably the best blue lace ive ever done (it can be chippy and pitted etc). Decided not to wait for sunshine to take the pics, as thats about 3 months away!!

did real good on the blue lace. It looks great. How do you keep your home so neat, or is it cleaned up for the shoot? The lace really does look good.

cleaned up for the shoot? lol laughing here doc, me and the missus try and keep things tidy(ish) - I make the mess with barrels and rough all over the place.
The little tubs of grit all over the show - far apart to keep them from cross contamination - get us down the most.

Oh so pretty Andy! And what a lovely home you have. We have kind of an oriental theme to our home as well. Good Chi. I've got some blue lace in Big Red now, second go around. Some pieces were just too big, some too fractured. I took the saw and hammer to them. Checked coarse tonight and the batch needs 3-5 more days, but it's getting there! Thanks for the pics ;D

Hey Andy,
Those are really pretty agates can you tell me how long you left them in each stage? I bought some and I am afraid I might screw them up.
Thanks Andy

Cheers all. Momma, the Blue Lace has done 6 recharges of 80 grit at 4 days per charge. Then 7 days at 220, and another 7 days at 400. The polish ended up at 5 days in Tin Oxide (3 would have done I think). 69Beeps - Cheers, the other three piles of rock were a gift from WilliamC who comes round here now and then, not sure if he's still tumbling (probably is as it cant be stopped!!). Cookie3Rocks - Big Red sounds like its working well now, yup - give them some wellie for more time at 80!! I'd be interested in seeing some pics of large chunks of finished Blue Lace when done. Sandsman - Blue Ice - Please Vote now LOL Llanago - Showed the fireplace as sometimes people write in wondering what to do with the finished stones, I think they look good there, so its an idea for anyone pondering maybe. Got some green aventurine in at the moment, a very large chunk (actually ooooppps down to about 2 inches long now from about 5 (grimace ) but that needs more time. It was a prezzie from mum when she went away on hols last year. Decided I liked the Blue Lace in both shape and colour so I think I'll get some more this week and do 2 barrels worth (thats about 6LB for me). Also - I still have a grudge about TigerEye and need more of that. Those pics of bearcreeks have proved yet again that my efforts with TigerEye are indeed in need of a revisit!

Hi James, good to "see you" as such.
Cheers for the compliments, when you say update the photo archives - do you mean on rth.com?
What do you want me to do - stick some more pics on the section of members photos?
Let me know and I'll do it.
What have you been upto recently - any nice batches?
Cheers andy

Hi again Andy, I was refering to either the members section or rth.com. I'm sure it takes up a ton of space and time though... The thing is, there are so many photos coming in (rocks and other "stuff") that its getting hard to navigate. And the older pics are getting bumped of the list permanently! Lately I've been swamped with a variety of projects. I've got Willow creek jasper, Orland jasper, Rainbow moonstone , tigereye, and a whole bunch of agate running right now. I'm running four (4) 15lb barrels with 80 grit 24/7 for as long as it takes to get a stockpile of stones ready for 120/220. Then I'll pump out a series of consecutive batches. I've also got several hundred more pounds of rough lined up. I figure that I'll be busy for a couple more years.
